Default Am I the only person who doesn't buy from companies that don't have an "Angel Policy"

First let me say that this is NOT a thread to bash companies that don't have it...I am just curious if this is an issue to anyone besides myself. I guess it would only matter to those that sell their cards (which I do) but this is one thing that makes me crazy. I LOVE Whipper Snapper stamps and REALLY want Anna Wight's new set...I have gone to their site several times to purchase, but I just can't make myself hit the "confirm order" button. Am I cutting off my nose to spite my face?

Just wondering other people's thoughts on this.

I have my own pet peeves but Angel Policies aren't one of them. But, you are not alone. To me, it's only important if you want to be able to use each and every stamp in selling your creations. If you really like a stamp and it's strictly for personal use, I can't see where it matters all that much. But, again, this is something personal and a matter of principal to many stampers.

You're not the only one! I only recently started buying SU again!

I also avoid really restrictive angel policies, like Inkadinkado, Hero Arts, etc.

I am careful about buying stamps that I just like...since I sell my cards to friends and at fairs I do only try to buy stamps that have wide Angel policies...

You're definitely not alone. That was one a the big reasons why I signed on with The Angel Company--I don't even have to stamp anything special on the backs of my cards that I sell.

The good thing for us stampers is that there is more and more competition everyday. I think these restrictive companies will only hurt themselves in the end.

I agree with you since I too sell my cards and want to be in compliance with my stamp companies' policies. I was thrilled when SU loosened their policy.

I've never worried about it, but I also don't sell my cards. I know some companies have super strict policies, but that's their choice.

Me too. There are tons of cute Whipper Snapper stamps I'd like but I really restrict my buying. I've bought a decent amount of Hero Arts this season, but there is a small Angel "window" there. I'm just starting to sell my cards.

I don't either. I quit buying SU stamps until they changed their policy. When I buy something, I figure it's mine to do with for whatever I want......

I'm not too concerned about the Angel policy, unless it involves Whipper Snapper. Then I get really concerned! I respect their decision regarding their Angel policy, but it makes it tough when you sell cards to co-workers and would love to make one with a Whipper Snapper stamp. I hardly think my one card is going to end up in a production line somewhere after it is sold, or in a magazine! But I know they have their reasons. :(

I'm with you - I only buy from Angel Companies...unless it's something I really really like for me, like House Mouse.

I too try to buy only from companies with a wide angel policy. I just started selling my cards at a local boutique, so I really need to be careful. Im a hobby demo for TAC and I love that I dont have to worry about selling my cards with their images on it. I have discovered a few more companies I dont have to worry about.

Wow, I never bothered to look up Hero Arts restrictions. I will never buy their stamps because of this. :-(

Wow - what's the Hero Arts policy? Also - Stamper 121 - what did you mean your cards will never end up in a magazine? Does that mean you can't submit a card for publication unless the stamps you use are from a company with an angel policy? Seems like they would want the free publicity.

I had to go and look at Hero Arts' angel policy out of curiosity. It doesn't look too retrictive to me.

Thanks for posting that link. HA does give you limited "license" but most companies do not make you jump through the hoops of limiting the number of times you use an image and sending them a letter. Still, it's better than nothing.

Thanks for posting the link to Hero Arts angel policy. When I originally read it, I interpreted it to mean that you couldn't under any circumstances sell products created using their images.

I love their stamps and haven't bought any in years! I guess I need to take a peek at their new catty
