Default fees for cashing canadian MO??

I have heard that someone was charged $15 for cashing canadian Money order. Is there anyway to avoid this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wow, I dont know....I had one a while ago from a sale here and casehd it at work with the accounting dept so I dont know if they were charged when they deposited it. Though the mo I had said "USD" so it was not Canadian funds...

It's actually quite easy for Canadians to get US$ money orders ... so if somebody is sending you $$, get them to send it to you in US$.
I realize it doesn't solve the problem if you've already got the MO, but otherwise ...
