Hi!
Can't help too much as I am above Baltimore in Harford County,
but Family Dollar seems to be generally good up here.
There are others around me, but, yes, they are full of junk!
Most of the time, they are selling items for $1 that you can get at Walmart for .79 to .89 cents!
Stink!

I like the dollar store that's behind Lakeforest Mall -- the one in the strip mall where Trader Joe's is. I think it's technically on Lost Knife. I guess that's Gaithersburg. I also like the one in Germantown, near Outback and the Amish market, on Great Seneca and Wisteria.
Oh -- one more thing -- have you seen that Target now has a $1 section, right at the entrance????? At the Target in Gaithersburg it's on the 2nd floor, and at the one in Germantown, it's at the entrance that's not near the customer service desk (but that store is all crazy now, anyway, with all the construction).
I've heard good things about the dollar store around here - Eldersburg MD (southern tip of Carroll County - Ellicott City and Columbia are 25 minutes away-ish). I don't go shopping much (with a 2yo and 5yo, most of my shopping time consists of "don't pick that up" and "please just stay right here next to me!" - not great for browsing!), but keep meaning to swing by sometime with only 1 child in tow....
Speaking of the MD area between Balto and DC - how 'bout an informal SCS gathering in this neck of the woods? I have spare projects cut (one of them a cool spinner card, instructions courtesy of SCS - y'all ROCK!!)
Happy Stampin' and Scrappin'!
