You know, I wasn't that impressed with the SAB sets this year. I probably will end up getting all of them but I am not in love with any of them. Maybe after I see some samples I will change my mind.
I love So Many Scallops (have the punch), Merci, and Lots of Thoughts, in that order. I'm hosting an SU party this SATURDAY and I'm hoping between my order and the party total that I'll earn all three!
I really like the Birthday Whimsy set, I like it more than any of the birthday sets in the catty. I also like the So Many Scallops set, and I already have the scallop punch! I will end up getting all of the sets, the rub-ons, and some extras. I am doing my big 1st demo order during SAB. I think they will be good for door-prizes or hostess rewards.

I'm having a lot of trouble with the Bday whimsy giving a clear stamped image. I tried roughing it up with sand paper (say that on someone's blog) but I'm demoing these sets tomorrow night and I'm really dissappointed about the purple rubber that SU uses with these SAB sets. Guess I shouldn't have waited until the last minute to play wiht them...Any ideas?!?!
I wasn't really impressed with any of them. I have to order a BUNCH of CS for some wedding invites and favors, so I could get 3 sets. I ordered two and let my friend pick one.

I found that too (just tried the balloon a couple of times) - you should start a new thread and ask for opinions on the Demo section.
For Melissa, when I stamp with a stamp that has a large amount of rubber to cover with ink, make sure that you smoosh, then tap the rubber on your ink pad. Turn the stamp over to inspect the ink coverage before you stamp, then stamp on scrap paper before tryig to do you final image. After I stamp on the scrap paper, I reink with out cleaning the stamp, then stamp my final image. Maybe doing it this way allows some ink to build up on the stamp and that's why I get a better image by doing this. If I follow these steps, I can get a better image with a stamp that has a lot of solid rubber llike the birthday set that you describe. You may have already tried these things, didn't mean to make it sound too elementary!
I will probably get the Merci set, the scallops set and the rub ons. I've never tried them, so it might be a good thing. The other thought that I had was to get three sets of so many scallops, keep one, then sell the other two when SAB ends. I wasn't really taken with any of them and I am realllllly trying to be more choosy about what I get.
I like So Many Scallops the most and hope to get it, which also means I will have to buy the scallop punch, it's been on my wishlist for a while anyway.
in that order. I should be placing an order large enough to get all three but we'll see. I already have the scallop punch so that should be fun. Altogether, I'm not too excited about the SAB sets... there are more I like in the Occasions mini coming out in March.
I like So Many Scallops and the Rub-On. There's nothing that I would place an order just to get though ... I have a $100 waiting for SAB because I usually do REALLY want at least a couple of things. This SAB didn't have anything that I was just dying to get but hey, free stamps are free stamps, right? It's all good!

I've also heard that stamping with Versamark onto scrap paper, then cleaning it and stamping with whatever ink you want on your project will work. There could just be some residue from manufacturing on it. Worth a try anyway, Versamark won't hurt your stamp!
I want So Many Scallops, Birthday Whimsy, Lots of Thoughts, and Friendship Blooms. I haven't ordered anything out of the new catalog yet so that I can earn all of these (I'm not going to place my order until the Spring mini opens so I can get that "double whammy"). Plus, I'll qualify for hostess benefits. It'll probably be my only order till the Fall catalog comes out (due to budget restraints), so I wanted to really make this one count, KWIM?
seriously, I want to see what the sets look like - link please.
Sorry, they won't be posting the SAB catalogue online for customers until tonight at midnight. After that it will be available on the www.stampinup.com site!
I didn't like any of them and I'm sure I'm not alone.
No, you are not alone. We had our stamp party this month and ordered like normal because we were not impressed with the stamps for sale-a-bration, and space for storing them is becoming an issue.
However, we know we will still get at least one next month after having time to see a few ideas in the gallery. Our SU demonstrator is fabulous!!!
well i am having a party and will get approx 5 (cdn's have teh $70 limit not 50) im getting So many scallops, birthday whimsy, lots of thoughts, merci for a friend and rubons
Lots of Thoughts (I'm gonna cut it up and use all the stamps seperate)
The rub ons (which are darling)
So many scallops (that baby one sells me the set, it's great!)
and Friendship blooms. Which I didn't love at first, but have seen cute things with, also the phrase on that is great.
If I had another $50 I'd have to get more rub ons, I don't care at all for the other two sets.

So, how is everyone else seeing them? If this is for demos only, then shouldn't it be in the demo-only forum. I'm sorry - I'm sad I can't see what "everyone" else can see.
My choice is none as well. I'm hostessing a party so that my customers earn free sets, but I don't like any of them. Don't know what I'll do with what I earn. I wonder if I should wait until April to have my party?
Thanks, always good to know my opinion counts.
You can write your opinion on the board, as you have MANY times now - you just don't have to click on the poll section. I posted this thread for fun and interest, and you're making a big deal about it for some reason.

Most demonstrators have sent out SAB mini catalogues to their customers since they were available on a supply order at the beginning of January - this thread isn't just for demos.
I am going to get so many scallops for sure. Then I might get birthday whimsy, and the rubons. I thought I might try the rubons for free... I agree there really isn't anything I am just dying to have.

Most demos. send the catalogue to their regular customers.....
I think it's against demo policy to actually post it, but I bet it's around here somewhere, if you look. ;) Otherwise, I'd post it for you, but don't want to get in trouble!

Here's a link to a thread over in ECC that has a link to the SAB flyer.
Wow! Thanks sma499! I didn't think that there was any way to link the SAB flyer to customers because the only way I've been able to get to it is from the demo side of the su website. That would have been so much easier to show customers during Jan! Oh well...

Yeah, that's what I thought too - but that link above that sma499 just posted is just a link to the www.stampinup.com website and I didn't have to login with my demo id to see it, so either there is a loophole in their website that they don't know about, or we are allowed to! Either way, there is it, ha ha.
