How many stamps do you have???
I am new here but read all the time. I have been looking at lots of rooms and reading lots of threads here and I just have to ask??? How many stamps/sets of stamps do you guys have.
this may have been asked here before but I did not see a thread anywhere but I wonder how many some of you have.
I love stamps and scrapbooking supplies BUT I don't think I have a clue how many stamps one person can own.............
Does anyone care to share how many they have in their collection.
Just so you will know where I am coming from I have about 21 sets from SU and maybe 10 clear sets and I don't know how many odd ones that have been from Michaels and various places........not that many I am thinking!!!!!!

You know there have been threads asking this question in the past and the answers really varied. Some have a few, others own up to having more than 10,000 stamps or hundreds of SU sets.
I've never counted mine and never will. I wish I could get them all in one place at one time long enough to count! I probably have several hundred stamps, for sure if you count all the little clear stamps in each set.

I have been stamping nearly 4 years, have had some awesome workshops so have gotten a lot free.
I have about 40 sets, and have to really see myself using a set many ways before getting one. That being said, there are some in the spring mini I like and may increase my stash then.
I have seen people respond saying they have thousands...I don't know when on earth you would ever use them. Have they all actually been used?

Too many... but still not enough. I have over the past year been able to recognize when I'm not using a set anymore and I'll sell or trade it. Have to make room for the new. ;)

OK... I was curious. I counted:
191 sets (mostly SU but I have a few from other companies)
14 big BGs
and a lot of miscellaneous single stamps
Yikes! And I sold a lot of sets a few months ago! I had NO idea it had gotten to be this much!

Way Way too many to count! And I just started stamping 1 1/2 years ago! It is defnitely addicting. I don't think I will ever count them as there will never be enough! Between stamps & scrapbooking supplies (been scrapping for over 9 years) I can never get enough. I used to think I was "sick" or something, until I realized through crops & forums like this that I am not alone.

Ok, I have:
88 SU! sets
18 unmounted/clear sets
about 45 single stamps
Not at all as bad as I thought
And by counting them just now, I found some cute single stamps that I had forgotten all about!!

I keep a list in Word of all my stamp sets. I have 148 SU sets and 15 Clear stamp sets. I have never really bought individual stamps because, well I don't know why. For a long time I was all SU and am just beginning to discover clear stamps. I do have sets that I use very little and sets that I seem to always go back to. They all have a place in my hobby and I doubt I would get rid of any (maybe a few). I am having a sale-a-bration workshop and I am planning on buying just cardstock and a couple more punches. I will take the free sets but I don't think I am buying any new sets.
To answer the question, can you have too many stamps? Probably, but I haven't gotten there yet. .

I probably have about 120-150, but I haven't counted lately. And that doesn't include single ones like Stamping Bellas.

I have about 30 sets between stampin up and clear sets. Then a few odd ball ones, and about 10 letter sets in various forms. I'm fairly happy with the amount, because I feel like I use most of my stamp sets to their full potential.

Ummmm....The number of stamps I have is on a "need to know" basis....I have no need-to-know!!! ;) (Mainly because it would scare the socks off me! ) I will say that DH took a peek in the drawers of the new stamp cabinet he built and told me I needed to take pictures of what the insides of the drawer looked like. I thought he meant so I could show to other stampers - he said it was to show to the insurance agent so he would know how much we needed to increase our homeowners policy.
Don't ask - don't tell!!!!

I do the same thing. Every time I get a new stamp I put it in the appropriate alphabetical list.
I have over 150 and yet that isn't enough.
someone once told me that getting tattooed was addictive, well it isn't nearly as addictive as collecting stamps.

Even if I knew I wouldn't write it down...he,he...cause my husband might see the number and freak out...Although he is very supportive...to ensure he remains supportive...I have learned never to say a word when we are shopping at Bass Pro or Cabella's...my response is always...don't you need a new gun to go with that camo??? And if I knew the number I might feel guilty...I agree with the person who posted...too many but never enough!
Oh and yes we have recently discussed making lists and taking pictures for insureance purposes as well.

I haven't counted and don't think I ever will cuz each month that number will change. Big question for me is "can I ever get all the ones that I want!" There are so many sets in the SU book that I really like and then all the other brands out there. Guess I won't be able to retire for a long time. haha Gotta work if I want to play!

I, too, keep a list, so it was an easy matter to count: 81 stamp sets, 19 backgrounds.

I just recently resorted through mine, I have about 75, every few months I go through and take out those I neglect and list them on here to sell or trade. I love this because I get new (to me) stamp sets I want without spending any more than shipping. LOVE IT! Okay I already forgot the complete question hope I answered it!

Yes, definitely a new gun! They are very expensive --- that translates to a LOT of stamps! ;) (In our household we try to keep things "even", if you know what I mean. ;) )

At least 89 SU sets (mostly retired) - including large BG stamps, unknown number of single stamps (various companies), and at least 3 TAC sets.
Thanks ... now I know I need more (89 is such an odd number, don't ya think LOL)

I counted one time about 3 or 4 years ago and I had about 200. I think now it's probably around 500 - haven't counted, just guessing! I have several retired sets that I have found at rummage sales.

Maybe the question s/b how many of us have used "all" of those stamps & sets? Sometimes I feel like I just "collect" them just because! You know that's okay too. Men seem to "collect" their guns and such. Actually, my DH mostly collects football stuff..so what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Right?

About 7 or 8 years ago, my DH bought some huge die cutting machine for several hundred dollars. I told him, "Don't you ever say a word when I buy rubber stamps!" Since then, I bought a rug loom. Between that and the rubber stamps, we may be even! ;)

I keep a list on my computer too, and just update it each time I get new ones. The longer I stamp though, the fewer sets that make my wishlist. (It does help that my family gives me SU! sets for my birthday & Christmas.) If I already have a baby set, then cute as the new one is - I don't NEED it KWIM? More & more, my money is going toward tools, paper & embellishments. I have an SAB order ready to go in that is large enough for level 1, but there are only 2 sets on it - Baroque Motifs & One of a Kind.
At the moment, I own:
91 SU! sets
11 SU! BG
14 Rollers
5 TAC sets

Well since you asked-
I am so organized...I keep a list of all my stamp sets in alphabetical order so I can find them easier. It's great having a list because I can quickly look to see if I have a certain set and where to find it. At the moment I have 328 Stampin Up stamp sets and 92 SU wheels- and I just bought 6 more background stamps on ebay. I have to learn to stay off of there! I only buy on ebay if it's a really good deal. I haven't used all my stamps- I'm a bit of a collector too

Just did a rough count of over 200 SU boxes with sets, also around 30 background stamps. I've been collecting for over 7 years, and I do believe it is an addiction.I also took a box of old stamps to my mom's and I have over 30 out in my garage. Help me!! Yikes!
