I know that my order will qualify me for a level one set, (speak in whiny voice here) but I don't like any of them very much. What are you all picking out and why? An what IS that giant blossom?! I thought I knew a fair amount about flowers, but I can't figure out what it is supposed to be.
I believe it's a Magnolia. This lady created a lovely card with the stamp. I would add some layers of popped petals for dimension....curve them slightly.
You're not alone... I don't care for any of the sets, either. :rolleyes: But that DSP! Now THAT I LOVE! It's my first and only choice. The colors offered are some of my favorite SU! colors anyway, so I simply must have them!
My first choice is going to be the for a friend set. Then the paper. I'm not loving any of the level I's either. The only one that i REALLY love is the level 3 hostess set Time well spent!
But I do like level 2 Spring solitude and infinite goodness.
I'd vote for the paper and For a Friend also. The paper is gorgeous! AND it's colors you can't get otherwise. For a Friend is also pretty easy to work with - there's some cute stuff in the gallery.

For A Friend is the only one that sort of holds my interest (as far as Level 1). The paper would be my next choice, but for me I'd rather have free stamps over paper - stamps last forever, but once you use the paper it's gone (unless it just sits on the shelf looking pretty like some of my stash, lol!). Just call me frugal, I guess! ; )
I didn't like any of them either, which made it an easy decision for me to bump my order up to the 2nd level hostess sets so I could get spring solitude. However, a friend is putting her order in with mine and now I'll qualify for a level 1 set as well, and I'm going to get the prints pack. I really don't care for all of the colors, but I figure a basic red is always useful, and I love the blue and the pink. I probably won't get much use out of the green, and the apricot is growing on me. But I'd definitely have to go with the prints pack for level 1.
My vote is with the others. I would get the paper pack and for a friend. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who can't stand any of the hostess sets. What's with that? I usually adore them and have trouble deciding which one, but not this catalog.
I don't really like any of them. I'm going to get For a Friend. I'd get the paper, but my demo just did a Paper/Ribbon/Rhinestone Bundle, and I'm not going to need any paper for a while. The only hostess set I like is Time Well Spent, but I would never reach a level 3!

Wasn't Time Well Spent the set given to all the demos. I think you could get it in a trade here. In just a few short months it will be up for sale I'm sure!! My demo wasn't fond of it I know. Oh and I will get that giant flower. That is the only one I really liked though.
I'm getting the paper. I'm more cutsie in my style. But I think that giant flower is beautiful, the card someone linked on this thread really shows it off too! YUM.
I love that level 2 with the bird and the flowers and a wheel. (DH is STILL sleeping so I can't get my hands on my catalog)
Thats about it. The simply scrappin kit is beautiful, they all are, SU knows how to do those kits I think!

OH and althought I'm not in love with more than 1 level 1 I'm ok with that because if I have another qualifying order I can always use MORE paper!
PAPER!! I love it.
but my point is if there was just one stamp set I loved then I had another order it's not like I'd want TWO of the great stamp set... But two packs of paper is cool.

So funny to read about so many people not liking the level ones as I like a LOT of them & can't afford to put in enough orders to get as many of them as I'd like. That said though, I really like the paper pack and if you don't like any of the stamps, would say that is your best choice. (Unless you have a friend or family member you regularly stamp with & one set is something they'd really like. Pick that one & you've got a gift for them.)

I'm having a party next weekend and have been looking through the gallery pondering this very question.
I'm a new stamper so I need more stamps! I'm not going to get the paper for that reason, and also b/c I don't like Wasabi at all and am only so-so on apricot. I'm not a big pink person either but I know I would use that on girly cards and baby cards. (might use the apricot for baby cards, too, I guess.) Still... I'd have to give the wasabi away!! (I bet I could find some takers here!)
The one "must have" hostess set for me is Infinite Goodness. If I qualify for a level 1 set in addition I think I'll get the "little bit of happiness" one. I like to color, although I still "need" prismacolor pencils. I looked at the "for a friend" samples in the gallery and they all seem to need DP to look cute, it's not the kind of set where the stamps can be used alone for the focal image, KWIM? I'm not planning to stock up on DP anytime soon.
Ah, well... it's fun to have such a delightful dilemma, to pick which stamps to get for free!! I'm excited for my party.
