Wow I love the papertrey ink white cardstock. I bought em a while bit back and just opened it up and used a sheet. man they are hard to fold so I ahem... ordered scor it!!!!! Can't wait till scor it comes! My DH will KILL me cuz it was $55 w free shipping.
I thought about the PTI cardstock for a long time thinking how much better could it be (110 vs. 80)- I added a pack to get my last order over the $40 limit to get the free shipping..... and I'm in love!

I just got two packs in today's mail. I can't believe how thick it is! I can't wait to use it. I know it's going to be great as a base, and I've heard it's wonderful for many different coloring techniques.

I have been using PTI cardstock since the first time they offered it. I can't praise it enough... the only thing I would love more is to be able to get it in vanilla too!
I love it as a base, however, I do have to say that I prefer the smoothness of SU! Whisper White for actually stamping. I get a more crisp impression on whisper. My personal experience.
I made a large card today, using a whole sheet of the Papertrey white paper and it cracked badly when I used my Scorpal. The crease edge looked all fringy. I know that paper has a grain, but I never had this problem before. Is it made so that you can get a good fold for the smaller 4.25 x 5.5 cards and not have this problem?

I totally agree. I've been using it for a long time now and 110 vs 80 makes a HUGE difference for a card base. Plus, it is beautiful to color on with whatever you want. Watercolor, pencils, crayons, etc.
I, too, am eagerly awaiting it to be released in a vanilla color as well. Maybe if we all wrote Nichole a letter!!:rolleyes:

I've used PTI cardstock using a whole sheet and never had a problem with scoring or cracking. I have a Scor-It but I understand that the score is very similar to the Scor-Pal. Maybe it's a matter of finding just the right pressure. My scores are usually fairly deep. Hope you get it worked out!
I just received my first package of paper also. I do like how thick it is. It will make a great base. So now are you telling me I need to get a scor-pal? I have not used it yet but now I am wondering if I need to get a scor-pal before I do.

The way I understand my Scor-It instructions, the hump side of the score is on the inside of the card. Anyone else like to chime in on this because I'm forever forgetting which way it goes?

I do it the opposite. hump side on the outside. I've never had any problems.
I LOVE PTI white. I agree though, a vanilla/creme color would be great! I use it for bases all the time. I don't use it for layering too much though. I bought like 4 packages not too long ago and I'm already close to out. I'll definitely be placing another order soon!
I buy Georgia Pacific white cardstock which is also 110 lb weight paper. I got 150 sheets for less than $5.00.
Hmmm. This would make it very difficult for me to decide to change. It folds, scores and gets inked well!
have you physically touched one of paper trey ink cardstocks??? I have Georgia Pacific too and I said the exactly same thing as you lol. Those are great too but I warn you when you touch paper trey ink cardstock, you won't turn back!! lol I still use georgia pacific for layers and mock ups.
I use it mostly for a base and other stuff for layers just because it is "harder" to get (you know, you can't get it at WalMart!!!). I think it has made all the difference for me. I am longing for the day when they can offer different colors like offwhite and pink! Maybe red for Christmas!

Ohh you definitely wont be sorry!!! I honestly thought I am happy with just georgia pacific until I touched PTI WOW! I must have been living under a rock lol. Now I wish they make em in vanilla, kraft, and black!!!
Did I miss something here? I thought the paper from papertrey was used for stamping and coloring in w/copic markers and watercoloring. I'm confused! Help :-(

Hump on the inside because when you score down on the cardstock, you stretch the fibers so you can bend the card stock away from where you just scored. Does that make sense? I hope I'm explaining it well.

I've used the Scor-It and Scor-Pal with the PTI paper without any problems. With the Scor-Pal, I like to lightly score first and then run again with a little more pressure.

You are right. When you use the Scor-It, the "cover" of the card is face down, the inside is face up. Jutta is using the Scor-Pal, not the Scor-It.

I am also a PTI card stock convert. I love this stuff. LOVE it. I can't believe how white it is. I had originally thought I'd use it as a base and use the GP stuff as layers but now the GP paper looks like a light grey compared to PTI. Now I use the GP stuff as test card stock with my Cricut machine.
