Spring Occasions Mini {Postive Thoughts Only Please}
Let's start a happy thread re. the SU Occasions Mini. What are you going to get (as of now, of course. I know in a month your list may change). As of now, I plan on getting too much!!! Just kidding. Here's my starting list...
In the Stars
Hodgepodge Hardware
Live Your Dream
Tart & Tangy
Summer Picnic DP
Full of Life
Just Celebrate...maybe.
I'll probably have to pare that list down as time goes on. :(
P.S. I'm not posting the link because I'm a demo...could someone else post it please? Thanks!
I'm considering Tart & Tangy with the matching DP. I like the Just Celebrate set, too. Love the bride/PG silhouette stamps but don't think I'd use them enough to justify the $$ on the stamps.
There's lots of other cute stuff but I'm trying to build my CS/ink supplies so I don't have as much $$ for stamps. :( oh, well!
I like this mini. I keep changing my mind, but as of now I want:
Time For You
One Smart Cookie
Essence of Love
Full of Life
Both DS papers
Hodgepodge Hardware
A Perfect Day rub-ons
Might buy:
Twill ribbon (I'm a sucker for all ribbon)
Friendly Flowers
Tart and Tangy
Carousel Notes...does anyone know if these open up like a card or are they only one layer?
Carousel notes: from the catalog I'm assuming they are one layer b/c it said you could stamp on one side and put journal notes on the other side... plus none of the examples showed an open card. I bet a demo could give you a better answer though...
Well, I love the whole thing and think that SU is doing a great job meeting a variety of needs and styles. (no, I'm not a demo... )
That said, I'll likely only buy Live Your Dream--not because I need more flower stamps but because I WANT that set, LOL! Plus, I know I'll use it hugely. Some of the other sets are really cool but not as useful for my stamping, KWIM? I'm getting to the point where I've just got too many stamps to go crazy buying lots from each mini, and need to really want something to justify expanding my collection.... Plus, I've forbidden myself from buying dp until I use some of my stash. Discipline is so hard for me....;)

No need to ask my demo...I just needed to read the small print like you did. Thanks!!
I like Bloomin' Beautiful, For Father, and Friendly Flowers.
I like the fact that there are so many different styles in this mini. I haven't been crazy about many of the sets in past minis.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the fruit set! I was so disappointed when the last one retired, right after I discovered scratch and sniff cards! Now I finally have a chance to get a great set to try it out with!
I am loving this mini! I'm signing up as a demo on Feb. 1, and this will be the second order I place. I think I will be my own best customer! Here is what I plan on getting out of the Occasions catalogue.
Bloomin Beautiful
Stampin' Glitter
Carousel Notes
Hodgepodge Hardware
Afternoon Tea DSP
Live Your Dream
Friendly Flowers
Chocolate Chip Poly-Twill Ribbon
Essence of Love
Sassy Suzie
I don't think I want to know what this totals up to! ;)

I don't have enough money to purchase all I want I'm just glad that this runs over several paydays...lol!
Sorry~ but that's not negative, just realistic.;) (That's what dh always says to me anyway!)
I want:
live your dream
the afternoon tea
hph
both twills
carousel notes
the jumbo wheel
one smart cookie
just celebrate
essence of love
and I am on the fence with the skinny chicks~
and the fruit....not sure what do with them besides scratch & sniff.... but it sounds like the are the "it" item of the mini!!!
now, whether or not I actually get all of that... we'll see.

I think we all agree with you. And I agree that it's not negative...just realistic. I'm really glad the mini lasts a {long} time and will give me time to save as well as to get a bit at a time. And if anyone else has something to say re. sets/items they like/dislike...I'm interested to hear what people think. I just want a thread that's about the mini...not other stuff, if you catch my drift.
I can't wait to get Bloomin' Beautiful. Plus.... Essence of Love, Live Your Dream, Afternoon Tea DP, and the new HP hardware. There are others I like a lot and will be buying over the mini period. I think SU did a great job this time with addressing different styles and tastes.

And if you're a demo or thinking bout becoming one, the preorder starts on Feb. 1st, and counts towards SAB as well!
What better time to sign up! A free stamp set (any value) of your choice for joining, preorder the new stuff early and earn hostess bennies, earn free SAB sets on that stuff PLUS your first order is 30% discounted instead of just 20%! If I wasn't already a demo, I'd sign up in February!
I love For Father. The others I'm looking at are Bloomin' Beautiful and Time for You. I'm waiting to see what the Canadian prices will be, I'm hoping they are closer to the U.S. price(I can only hope).
I *love* the 'time for you' set - that bicycle looks just like mine - so that's a must have!
I'd like to see the die cut blooms and the scalloped notes...might have to have those too.
And I kind of like the silloute women - I don't really want the full set though so not sure if I will order...it's a good thing the mini will be around for a while - I'll probably talk myself into it!
I like the Lot of Dots wheel, especially since it's jumbo. Wheels are great for decorating 12x12 scrapbook pages if you want a border strip on the whole background. The versamark ink is great for this so the design isn't overpowering, just gives a little texture and interest.
I was wondering why the brass template for the Pick a Petal had the large round scallop, now it makes sense with the carousel notes. Since I already have the template, I'll want to get the notes.
I like the designer papers, too. Hard to tell the scale, but I like smaller prints that better fit the scale of cards.

There is a few i like:
For father
Full of life
Sassy Suzie- maybe
Shes all that- maybe
Afternoon tea- a must
I like that i can get SAB free till Mar. 17.
When I saw the bowl of blossoms image in the Bloomin Beautiful set, I reached over to the square Kleenex tissue box by my computer and compared that image to the image of a bowl of blossoms on the tissue box and the image is almost identical. Just yesterday I had thought I'd love to have a stamp with that image on it. How about that for a quick response to a wish?
I also love several other sets, especially the For Father set.
