Default Mystery Product in SU Catty???

So far I've been unable to get a reply about the PUNCHES PLUS BRASS TEMPLATE that is found on page 187 of the SU Spring & Summer catty. Perhaps very few demos are aware of it . . . but it sounds interesting.

I've been told that it can be used for both paper piercing and embossing. I'm wondering what size punches it coordinates with?

Do any of you have a link to a gallery card where this template was used?

Thanks for your help.

i will take a stab at this...

i would guess that the squares are the #13, 14 & 15 punches on page 180, 1-3/8, 1-1/4, & 3/4.

maybe the circles are the #4, 5, 7 & 8 punches on page 180.

looks like the large oval punch and the small star.

maybe the parentheses would match the size of the one in office accoutrement on page 124.

these are just guesses tho.

the parentheses can be made with the tag punch. and i think you use the template to raise it a bit

I am not a demo, but I can answer your question for you, since I have the Punches Pluss Classy Brass Template. Although it might be difficult to explain, since each shape on the template could possibly go with more than one punch. For example, the largest circle on the brass template is the exact same diameter as the 1 1/4 cirle punch and would work to emboss the larger 1 3/8 punch, but the paper piercing dots AROUND the largest circle can encircle both the 1 1/4 circle punch AND the larger 1 3/8 circle puch. Clear as mud? It would take quite a while to match up all the shapes and paper piercing patterns on the template to the punches they coordinate with, but if you really need it, let me know and I will work on it for you. Hope this helps.

ETA: I can say that the bracket shape does *not* coordinate with the tab punch. The bracket image on the brass template is too large and angular for that. I still havent discovered the item that goes with that bracket shape. LOL I think it's just a random shape they included. It's VERY close to the bracket in the OA set, but still not quite the same.

Thanks for your explanation. I have always been curious about this template. Do you find you use it much?

I've only had mine for a month or so, but yes, I do love it, use it often, and see many possibilites for it (I am a dry embossing fan, anyway, LOL)! Especially since it matches with SU!'s punches, and therefore SU!'s images. With a name like 'Punches Plus", it's easy to forget that the template can be used with other things *besides* the punches! Stamp an image and emboss around it, instead of punch it out, KWIM?

You are very welcome. Let me know if you'd still like the list and like I said, I will work on it for you.

Lisa, you are very generous to offer to give me further details. Since I plan to order this template next week I don't want to trouble you any further ... you have certainly convinced me that I'm going to love it. I'm a dry embossing fan and paper piercing fan so I have no doubt that this is going to be a wonderful tool. Can't wait to get my hands on it!!

Thanks for your kindness!

Sounds great! Almost a similar effect to the nestabilities?

I'd love to see some examples of what you've created with this.
