Since the ads that appear on this forum appear to be specific to the user of the computer, I am making a false post here in the stamping forum that I am too thin, thin, thin.
I am anorexic. I am not making fun of anorexics, as I know that anorexia is a very serious disease. Just trying to get rid of a certain ad, which if I mention it here, I will just get more of!!
Get it google??;)

ok, there are certain ads aimed at f a t people on this site. i think only folks who have discussed that issue on line see those ads, although I could be wrong. I'm sick of seeing wait (purposely spelled wrong) loss ads everytime I come to the stamping forum! so I'm posting about the opposite issue on the theory that google will stop the offending ads!
The more I write about this the dumber I sound. ...

Someone had posted a message about changing vcr tape to dvd, and lo and behold there was an ad at the bottom for software to do this, I thought how ironic. Susie

I see no ads on my monitor when I log onto this site. There is one banner ad but that's it. You can turn off additional ads and pop-up windows on your computer if you don't want them.

Patti
Patti,
The banner ad space is what Joan is referring, too. We don't allow pop-ups or the like, but we do use google type media ads to supplement our advertising program. You should always have something in your page header, banner spot.
Well this is even scarier - I've just come on here and the banner at the bottom is referring to ladies who like other ladies if you get my meaning - are they getting at us again then! LOL! I'll look at all these in a different light now!
I think it is awful we have to have this kind of ads on this site! Wish there was a way to stop them!
i'm with you karen. however, i think the ads provide income to SCS that allows the team to continue offering a great site to us addicts... er, i mean stampers so, i can deal with it. i just try to ignore them if it's something i'm not interested in.
...so, will i start seeing detox program ads now? ;)
I am getting those same ads. As a SAHM, I have no idea why I would get those ads. I would think I would get stuff about not losing your mind when your kids don't listen to you, or how to get someone to help out without screaming, etc. etc.
(Sorry it has been a bad morning.)

Reason: spelling error
Those feedback ads by Google must be based off the Google searches you do on your PC. I always get stuff for the weird things the kids and I have googled recently. Currently the one on this page (for me) is for audiophiles -- a website for those interested in vinyl albums, which DS#1 is, and has googled about in the last few days.
I would suggest that if you find an ad that you find offensive that you forward the www. part of the ad (example- I see an ad for rubber stamps from www.iprint.com - that is what they need) to this site owners. They can ban the site thru Google if they do not want the ad displayed on this site.
Well, that explains a lot. I kept noticing these "Husker" ads and other ads for places in Nebraska and I couldn't believe they'd show up on SCS. I suppose since I have Omaha as my location, I'm getting all of the husker crap.
Hmmm, mine shows an ad for creating your own banner....think it's confused now? All these tangents it doesn't know where to go! But I do like the pool boy idea - now, where's my pool and towel?

All of my banner ads are for stamping products- guess they hit that nail right on the head! That's all I think about anymore. LOL! But I just thought it was because this is a stamping website.....hmm.......it may be fun to experiment with this.
I see the color of the ad as the page opens, but I could never tell you what it says, I don't pay any attention to it. I'm here for the site info, not a bunch of solicitation! But then again, most sites do the same thing.
Ha ha ha! I just noticed that the ad at the top (and bottom) of the page is for cleaning products! I am always posting about how I have to clean the house before I can stamp (which is true again today...)! This is cracking me up now!
