Its my pleasure to guest host this weeks Try a New Technique Challenge. This is my first time hosting a challenge and Im quite excited!
Since preparations for Valentines Day seem to be in full swing, I thought it would be fun to try another cute project Pixie Pouches, from a VSN06 challenge presented by Anita and hosted by Joni Field (jstarbright). (Thanks, Joni!) Theyre easy to make and just the right size for a little goodie for your sweetheart, friend, co-worker or a teacher. Lets see what fabulous ideas you have, and what you decide to fill your pouches with (candy bars, lollipops, cocoa, pixie stix, pencils, pens, etc!)
Here are Anitas directions from the VSN challenge in Nov. 06. (I made my pouch a little wider (8) than Joni and Anita's samples to accommodate the width of the cocoa packet and added brads at the edge of the pocket top for reinforcement):
*The dimensions are: One 7 x 7 inch piece of cardstock (think festive) [or 7 x8 inch piece for wendella247s] Fold this in half so it now measures 7 high x 3 wide (or 7 high x 4 wide for wendella247s]. Open it up again, on the seam cut down 1 inches, score across to the cut line, and fold down. This becomes your front flap for the pouch (See example if I have confused you: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/402788?cat=500&ppuser=41472) I used red line Sticky tape for my remaining 2 seams. _________________

Thanks for hosting this challenge, Wendy. I can't believe I'm looking for this challenge after just finishing the VSN challenges and uploading them just by 11:00! LOL

I was looking at the sample and though this would make a cute container for a small Thank you or birthday gift as well as for candy or Hot Chocolate.
Thanks for the great sample and for hosting this challenge.
Wow!!! This was fun and such a cute gift idea!! I'm planning on making some more of these!!! Thanks so much!! I love playing in challenges when insomnia strikes!!! LOL

I just uploaded my first TLC challenge card. I'm still trying to figure out how all of this works. I can successfully load to my gallery but do NOT know how to get cards linked and put them in this reply. Is there another thread I can read to show me how to do that ??!!!
Thanks so much. I LOVE this little pouch. TFS
