Today's challenge is the Baby Wipe Technique!

Here is mine, pending at the moment: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Here is how to do it:
Take a baby wipe, and fold it into quarters. Add a couple drops of reinkers of 2-3 colors to the center of the folded baby wipe. Now fold the corners backwards to make yourself a little 'handle' to hold the baby wipe. Dab, pounce, or swirl the baby wipe onto either paper or the stamp itself. You can use either glossy paper or regular cardstock. Depending on how wet the baby wipe is, you can do several quarter sheets of cardstock. Also, if your brand of wipes is very wet, your paper may curl up due to the moisture....glossy paper is less likely to curl, but will a little.

I used Tidy Tykes brand wipes...they are a little drier than most baby wipes, so I was only able to do 2 quarter sheets of cardstock before reinking. [After 6 collective years of diapers for my twins, I have a small adversion to the smell and feel of baby wipes! But I can live with Tidy Tykes!]

I can't wait to see what all of you talented stampers create! There are lots of examples already in the gallery (search on baby wipes) for more inspiration. Have fun!

Way cool - I've been waiting for this all morning! I'm on vacation this week so I'm stampin up a storm. I like this technique and think I need to do it again! That is really the best thing about these challenges - you learn so much!

Here it is - I had to bang it out quick before I went to get my pedicure (I love vacation at home!):

Thanks again Beth for another great challenge!

Default Cool Cat!

I just tried this recently! But I put the reinkers on the baby wipe and then stamped on that like it was a pad...here it is:

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

All of it (background, words, cat) used the baby-wipe ink-pad. The colors are much brighter IRL...

Try a wet paper towel, that's all baby wipes are anyway. I'd cut it down a little first. Don't miss out on the fun!

I just have to say this is horribly unfair that I can't play. :(
I haven't seen a baby wipe in 10 years.
I will have to go out and get some just so I can play.

If you don't have baby wipes and don't want to buy any just for stamping, you could try using the moist flushable wipes available for anyone to use. I think they are called "Cottonelle."

Here's a few from my gallery that I've done in the past with this technique. I'll try to do some more later!

I just received a swap where someone used this technique and I couldn't figure out how she did it. Thanks for posting this challenge - I came on here looking for the directions. I only wish I wasn't at work so I could play, too!!

I would have been better off scanning my fingers! LOL

I only have reinkers for the retiring colors so this was about all I could think to use.

Background is swiped with a baby wipe. Stamps were stamped on the wet baby wipe. Bow is covering up a mistake. It matches better IRL.

Pending @ 4:00 Eastern Time.

This was a fun technique. I didn't have any reinkers, so I used food coloring. It limits color choices, but I think they turned out OK. Here's my first one:

This is a baby wipe card I did way back when....... I used a little different technique. I have done this on other cards also. I just dab an edge of the wipe directly onto ink pad and use a swiping motion. Works great. Nancy

Another card. Swiped babywipe behind the tree.

Beth,
I pretty much copied your example, just used a different stamp from that set.

This is my first attempt at a challenge. Both my kids are at morning camps this week and I decided to treat myself by doing the challenges each day.

Thanks. I tried that link, but I got an error message. I guess when my upload is no longer pending I will try copying and pasting the URL.

Can you believe we're at technique challenge #20? This was a really fun technique (if a little messy - my hands are filthy - I picked up the wipes to swipe the glossy cardstock for the backgrounds of my cards!). Here are 2 I did tonight:

I'm back after a week off stamping. I nearly had the jitters from stamp withdrawal when I got home from vacation yesterday!

Here's my contribution:

Default TLC20 - Rustic Baby Wipe Technique

This was so fun. I never would have thought to use baby wipes. I can't wait to demo this Thursday night for my stampin' groupies. I used metallic ink. This sort of reminds me of the polished stone technique but cleaner and less smelly without the alcohol. Thanks for the great challenge.

Here is mine:

I hadn't done the wet wipes other than pressing onto the wipe with a solid stamp and transferring it to paper so this was a new technique for me.
My butterfly is what I used the technique on and in real life it looks more like marbled vellum. A very nice look!
Here is the card.

I did several more yesterday with the baby wipes. Although I mainly switched to using the Cottonelle Wipes because my baby wipes had gotten too dried out.

These use the inked up wipe to swoosh across the cardstock and make a background:
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
They also fit the Color Challenge for last week and one also uses Crystal Effects for the Ways to Use It Challenge from last week.

These two use the inked up wipe as an ink pad for the stamps and to swoosh or dab onto cardstock for a background. The one really looks awesome in real life, but the colors just didn't scan well. The other fits the Color Challenge from last week too.
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

This final one was done with a baby wipe, but I think it was too dry, so the colors are really, really light. I just used the inked baby wipe as an ink pad for the stamps.

Well I did manage to combine TLC20 with CC18 by using old color re-inkers on the baby wipe and new color cardstock (bet you can't even tell). Here it is:

I have never done this technique before. It was kinda fun. Once I had the background done, though, it refused to cooperate with any of my ideas. So I finally combined it with this week's sketch challenge, and this is what I came up with. I like how it turned out, but it's missing something....

This is my first time with this technique and it's fun and easy. I just had a hard time trying to put it all together - what do I stamp on the background and on and on...

Here are three that I did:

Loved your creations... didn't see all, but loved what I saw!

Loved the technique too! I'll use it in my baby's album...

Michele, I loved all your cards!!! I got inspired by them. I feel so hard to make cards, now I'll try some. Thanks!

Default Baby Wipe Backgrounds

Ok so when I decided to try the baby wipe background I went a little bit crazy. I just wanted to see what I could come up with using different colors. Then after I had all those pieces I had to stamp stuff to go with them. I couldn't figure out how to put more than one link on here so I will just put my gallery link..just in case you want to see them.
