Exclamation Dew Drops/Rain Drops/Bella Baubles

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from Michael's and found something very interesting. Are you all familiar with Dew Drops a/k/a Rain Drops and Bella Baubles? They are 1/4" round acrylic dots, the bottom is flat for applying snot dots or crystal effects to adhere them, and they come in many different colors.

I've purchased them in approx. 1/2 oz. pkgs. from Stamping Bella for $4.99 here: http://www.stampingbella.com/index.p...4c1f84f8f47047.

I've also seen them on Ellen Hutson's website for $4.99 here: http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/C...ts%3ADew+Drops

Well, like I said I just got back from Michael's. There, I found 5 oz. bags for $2.99!!! That's easily 5 TIMES AS MUCH AS STAMPING BELLA AND ELLEN HUTSON!!! Michael's had them in clear, varigated pinks & reds, varigated green, and varigated blue!

Christine at All That Scraps has figured out how to custom color the clear ones using the airbrush system and Copic markers, here: http://www.ccdesigns.typepad.com/.

The possibilities are endless! If you'd like a picture of what I found at Michael's, PM me your email address and I'll send one along. I'd like to find these somewhere else in the other colors. If any of you know where to find them, please let me know. Thanks!

I bought some from Ellen's place just last week. I think hers are priced comparably, the jar is huge.
I was in Michaels today and didn't see them~ abouts where were they?

Talking

I found them near the vases and floral supply. Here are two pictures that I took comparing the ones that I bought from Stamping Bella (the website says you get 80 to 100 pieces) and the ones I bought today at Michael's. You can see that the ones from Michael's (on the right) are a bit bigger than the ones I bought from Stamping Bella. But I think I could live with that with such a great price!

Karolyn, TFS!! I can open your link to the comparison pics, but I get that box w/ the big red X. Will you please tell us the name that is on the package so I'll know when I find them? That'll make it soo much easier, not to mention much swifter, KWIM? ;)
Well, the red X was about an hr. ago... now there's a message box that says the pic has been permanently removed.
May God bless, Sandi

Okay, they took the pictures off because of the rules about posting products. And my pictures are too big to attach to this post (don't know how to make them smaller). PM me your email addresses and I will email the pictures to you. Okay?

There is nothing like the real thing! Listed here for $4.80...

I just got these and really LOVE them! I can barely wait until I can find time to use them on my next project!

Update.... I PM'd Karolyn and she emailed me the pic. of these babies. They come in a plastic bag w/ a fold over cardboard label. The label has a floral background w/ a pic. of lighted candles and the words *Decorative Accents* The manuf. is Panacea Prods. Corp. which sells mainly to wholesale.
I'm going to M's today and will probably pick some up! I'll post my findings. Thanks again Karolyn!!:-D

Lorraine, that's awesome. I'm hoping once Recollections closes they'll start carrying more - especially the stickles since R has been carrying them.

Way to go, Lorraine!! I hope you remembered re-inkers!! ;) The only time I ever see the manager, he is busy with his order sheets talking to some of the staff.
I found them too!! I bought all 4 pkgs. I was possessed to find out how many are in each bag, so I counted the red/pink pkg. There were 682 red and 590 pink!!! I know, I know... just call me dorky!!

LOL, Lorraine, what I'm calling red are the dark ones in the red/pink pkg. - 2 colors. I didn't turn on a bright light to scrutinize them so those may be just dark pink. I bet coloring the cs w/ red marker, etc, on the spot where you're gonna glue them would make them red. ;)

I just saw these the other day for the first time on someones blog and I'm curious about the height of them. Will they make a card super bumpy and hard to mail? If someone could compare the height to something like different coins or something I would really appreciate it.

Just wanted to share that I too went looking for these - finally found them on an end cap not exactly in floral - picked up the bag - looked at them - thought these are great I'm in a hurry can't get them today - hung them back up on the hook watched them slide off hit the ground and burst open.........made quite a little mess I did - scooped up as many as I could and brought them up front to apologize.....it wasn't even a Monday either.

K.. SilverDragoness.. here ya go.. straight from the Mistress of Measure!
Very technikal technik: lay rain drop on edge of envelope supported by a medicine bottle, hold at eye level, measure w/ 8" plastic ruler. ;)
These babies are: height- just a hair over 1/8", and width- just a hair over 1/4". Of course some are like some of us - a tad shorter in height.
I just love picking up a handful and letting them fall slowly... ummm... so pretty!

Guess what?! Thanks to this enabling post I was able to find the bags of baubles at M's, even in Canada! That's very exciting but they were $6.49 here. It's a big bag full mind you.

I found the baubles as well at M's here in Canada! I got it for 40% off so it was under $4 and it is a very big bag full!

They do color nicely with Copic markers. Haven't tried a Sharpie or something permanent...but I know the Marvy markers and Galaxy markers don't work...unless maybe they were heat set. Not sure about that.

BUT....with the clear ones, I took a hole punch slightly smaller than the dew drop and punched a bunch of holes out of paper to match my scrapbook page....then I adhered the matching paper dots to the back of my dew drops with some clear gel glue and voila! perfectly matching dots for my page (or card.) Think the technique used for making those flat-backed marble magnets a while ago...same thing. In fact, I used the same glue to adhere my eency dots.

(I shared this in a couple of spots because I just love that I can make them any color anytime to match anything!)

Yep, they're plastic, not glass.

I found them! Mine had green/clear, blue/clear and dark pink/light pink. I bought them all! They were $4.99 a bag here in Southern Maryland. Question though - the backs of mine are not completely flat, they sort of bow in. Is that how the Bella/Dew Drop/Rain Drop ones are, or are they flat?

I used some of the "baubles" i found at M's in the card below.
Jacks Unfrogettable by Tavias Charms at Splitcoaststampers
the baubles from bella are smaller, but for the price at M's i'll make them work! The raindrops that i have are from Gina k and they are almost flat and have adhesive on them, very different from this find at M's. i don't own any dew drops so i cannot compare them
