Default UnMounting Stamps

I am in the process of unmounting all my wood mounted stamps. Some of them are larger background stamps - is it okay to unmount these stamps as well? Or do they work better as mounted stamps --- or is the only issue the "cushion" that they need?

TIA!!

I have unmounted a couple of my backgrounds so far. I didn't want to use that much ezmount, lol, so I did the tack-it-over and over stuff. Works fine for me.

I've read about many people unmounting their b/g stamps, seems to be fine.

Good luck, I'm going through the unmounting process also!

I never did mount my background stamps; I just ink them with a brayer, put the paper on top of the stamp, cover with scrap paper (like grid paper) and then gently press the paper down onto the stamp, smoothing across the paper to make sure all areas get ink. HTH
