Break out the popcorn! Curl up to read a good book! Its time for the final challenge. O.k. so you cant really do any of that till youre done with the challenge but start thinking about it and you will get your inspiration!
Create a card that is inspired by your favorite book or movie. For instance, if my favorite book was Harry Potter 4 Goblet of Fire, I could do a Halloween card with a goblet sitting on fire and smoke coming out. Then I could use a stamp saying, Happy Halloween.
You need to tell us in your description what book or movie inspired your creation. Remember to include JULYVSNH in your keyword section and post a link to this thread so we can all enjoy your work. So get your thinking caps on and start creating! It can be funny, scary, romantic, playful, etc. You never know what it is I'm looking for!
If you are having trouble, here are some suggestions courtesy of our fearless leader Leslie (Graciesmom):
HP- Halloween card/something haunted/ghosts,etc
Romance Novel- a love card
Pretty Woman- could use Haute Couture set
Anne of GG- could use farm (been a while since I read that?) or use a kid/girl on card
In Her Shoes- make a shoe card
I know it's corny but here is a sample of the Harry Potter card.

Awesome! I happen to be a book FREAK, so this may take me a few minutes... luckily for me, I have a few favorite books, so I should be able to find some stamps that go along... off to scour my bookshelves to find some ideas!

wow! I'm still all caught up! can't believe I stayed caught up all night! hhhmmm... this is a thinker for me hopefully I can come up with something quick and go to bed
I have a 1 & 5 year old. I haven't read a grown up book in a looong time. Man I'm going to have to think about this one.
You don't have to do just a book. You can do a movie too. For instance, if my favorite movie was (and it is) Somewhere in Time. I could do a card with a clock on it.

I am completely stumped on this one. I read so much that I can't pick a favorite. But of the books that are my favs, all have animals like mice and cats and of course I don't have either in stamps. :/

Here is my last card for the evening, jsut in time to pick up DH from work. I used a book I read tonite to my toddler, curious george is our fav right now. I know I could have been more creative, maybe I will make another tomorrow.... something lori wick, that's my fav author! It was fun being a part of my first vsn, thanks everyone for getting our creative juices flowing!
I am uploading now. I knew instantly what I would do for this one. One of my fav authors is Barbara Kingsolver. Pigs in Heaven is about a six-year-old girl named Turtle & her mother. It is the follow-up to Animal Dreams. I made a cute piggy card, and now I want to dig out my old copy of the book & read it again.

I made this for Emily to celebrate the new Harry Potter book.....it just happened to fit this challenge as a bonus! I finished it and realized it would work for this too!
My favorite book since High School is Leaves of Grass, a collection of poems by Walt Whitman. The explanation of my stamping is in the description section of the gallery page.

It was tough to decide between Much Ado About Nothing, Pirates of Penzance, and lately A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. So I went with my avatar....Adventures in Babysitting.

Okay, mine is still pending as I am typing this but....I chose my all-time fave book, The Great Gatsby. The card is meant to reflect one of the final lines in the book:
"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us."
Thanks for the great challenge! One of my favorite books is The Secret Life of Bees. Not my most creative, but it's really late and I'm about to fall over.
I am off to go read more Harry Potter and then off to bed. I will check back in the morning! Can't wait to check out what everyone did.

Sheesh, that was tough. I went with a movie. When ever I see this on TV I stop and watch. It is Parent Trap with Hayley Mills. I love when they go camping with the city slicker and they tell her to hit a pan with a stick to scare the bears. Hey, City Slickers would have been a good movie too. LOL
Here is my card.. inspired by my favorite book (yes it is a children's book) GOOD NIGHT MOON! I heated craft foam and stamped it, then rubbed it with metallic rub-ons. I love this technique!!!!
Mine was inspired by the book and movie The Notebook. My roommate and I have two copies of the book and the movie in our apartment and I think we watch it almost weekly. Not to mention that we have the men in our lives watching it even when their not here. So naturally it was the first movie that came to mind.
Here's mine. my fav books are the Harry Potter series, but since I don't have any remotely halloween stamps, my next fav are Danielle steele books, this is what I came up with: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I'm pooped! Going to grab my newest book (HP of course) and head off to bed! This has been too much fun!
