how do you store your wheels?

my dear darling DH surprised me today with a (much) larger cabinet to store all of my SU supplies (previous storage cabinets - 3 of them - were overflowing into the kitchen table, counters, etc).
So I've been organizing all day, even bought a new ribbon organizer in the spirit of things...
The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is a good way to store my wheels so I can still see them, but they aren't all over the place.
Any ideas? anyone know of a wheel organizer??

I haven't done this myself yet (I don't have any wheels yet). But a side line of mine purchased a hanger that holds multiple pairs of pants. She says it works great for the wheels.

i also store mine on a pants hanger i got the idea from my demonstator!it seems to work great so far! i had trouble finding one and my sister-in-law was thorwing a new one away that her mom left at her house after a sale! so i got it free!!

I have seen the hangers that Debbie mentioned above used for ribbon spools, fabric pieces, and also mulberry/ homemade type papers.

I store my wheels in a Pringles can-it works great! I cover it with 8.5x11 inch cardstock. Before I tape it to the chip can I roll each wheel design, so you can see what wheels are in each can. Eaxh can holds 6 wheels. It works good for me.

I store my ink cartridges in ziplock baggies by color family but, I have seen them stored in extra plastic stamp containers. These are also stored by color family and they stack up nicely.

Well, since you asked, I use empty Pringles cans! I stamp on a piece of paper for each wheel that is in that particular can and then adhere it aroung the can. Viola! It holds 5-6 wheels each. It is such a cheap way of storing them, either that or a very fattening way, depends on how you look at it!!

I use a ZAG tool box I found at Home Depot. It measures something like 3 1/2" Dx 13"H x 18"W. It has movable dividers in it. So, I keep my handle, cartridges, refill and wheels in it handily.

There's a plastic case that you can find in the tool box section of Home Depot. Sometimes the label says "ZAG" or "Work Force" and it's gray with some yellow. It has yellow dividers that you can put in the slots which allow you customize your case to fit wheels, or wheel handles, or the old-style ink pads if you wanted. With all the dividers in, I fit 24 wheels in the lower 3 rows and can put a few more in the sections on either side of the handle too. Or you can put your ink cartridges there. It's great because it keeps them contained, you can see the wheels through the clear cover, it's portable, and it's easy to get whichever wheel you want to use in and out. I'll try attaching a photo of one.

I use clear tennis ball cans - a good friend of mine plays tennis and gives me his offcast cans

I also use the plastic case to store my wheels in. I tried the pant hanger method but have too many wheels for that. :oops:

I have my wheels out on my ink caddy from www.suink.net & cartridges in a plastic container from Joann's.....art bin makes it. The dividers are adjustable so both sizes fit. I had my handles in there too, until I got more cartridges. :oops:

Hello, I use a clear spaghetti rubber maid container. I like it because I can see at a glance my various wheels. Now I just have to order more ink cartridges in more colours My DH says there appears to be no end of things to buy for this hobby of mine.

I also use the pants hangar... I even store my handles on the bottom rung. I am usually too lazy to take the wheel out when I am done, so I just put the whole thing on the bottom. Right now I have 4 regular size handles and 1 jumbo on there.
Of course, now I need another one, because I too, have too many wheels to fit on just one.

I have a peg board up and store mine on pegs. I use a Longaberger basket (don't remeber the name but is got a leather handle and is rounded at the bottom) for the handles, the a plastive pencil basket underneath for my ink catridges.

Works great! and they are all easy to get to.

Another really inexpensive way to store the wheels, is to store them in a Velveeta box. Six wheels can fit in there.

I have mine on a bobbin holder I got at Hobby Lobby in the fabric dept. I really like how it works.

I have all of my wheels stored on a thread holder. The kind with the wooden pegs that stick up to hold spools of thread. The wheels fit on every other peg and I even have my jumbo wheels on there too!

i have a very thin curtain hanger, it is round and has "hooks" to hold it up. I have run the rod across a space on my shelf and voila. I also have this for all my ribbons. I have them toward the top of the shelf area, so i can store things underneath and still reach everything. I can pull ribbon off while working (keep them from running lose with a small pin). It looks neat and colorful.
