I have been trying to clean up my stamping room. And I need some storage solutions for my markers and my spots. I don't have full size ink pads and unfortunately most of the storage things I see are for full size ink pads. Does anyone have ideas on a good way to store spots? And the same for my markers. I have them in the case they came in, but would like something more permanent, or something that can hang on the wall or in a drawer. Just to get them off the table top.

Two families of spots fit snugly in the plastic case that background stamps come in. Those stamps really don't need a case, so use the case to put lots of little things together.
So, you got the full set of markers and the nice case? I'd keep them in that case and if you want to get them off your table, perhaps you have a shelf nearby to put the case on.

A while ago I had the same problem with my markers. I knew that they needed to get stored horizontally but I wanted something that I could grab them out easily and not have to put them back in individual compartments. So I posted something here and got several great answers. The one I picked is a clear acrylic box with an "X" inside of it. That gives you 4 separated compartments. It lays on it's side. My markers are now in this and I could not be happier with this solution. If I really needed to put it away, I would just lift it up and put somewhere. Here is a link to a photo of it. Not the best but if you look at a couple of others in my room, you will see another angle of this marker holder.
Don't have a solution to your spots though. Sorry!

I love this solution as well. I have the box that the markers come in, but it always annoyed me that I felt compelled to try to keep them each in their "correct" spot. So I went with the "X" cube and have found it to work perfectly for me.

Another marker solution I've seen and loved is a wine rack with glasses. The markers just lay in the glasses. I'm soo wanting to try this but I have the marker case and don't want to give it up.

The little "X" boxes are found in office supply stores. Look at the pencil holders. They'll usually have them standing upright, though, since they don't know about our weird "markers must be horizontal" rules...
Thanks for all the ideas. I love the x-box thing - thanks for the link. That looks like it would be easier to use than the original box for the markers. And I have plenty of b/g stamps so I can use those boxes.

I like those x-cubes! I've been storing my markers and blender pens in a punch box. I took my tag punch out and combined the stamps with the other two stamp sets that were for the punch and put my markers and such in. It is a little bigger than I need, though.

You know those clear plastic picture frames that have the cardboard box inside to keep the picture in place? -Remove the cardboard and you have a great way to store your spots. They come in many sizes, so you can store by color family or all together.

My spots are by family in the original boxes they came in and have been for years. No problem with drying out or anything. They can stack or anything you want and take up very little space.

I only have the spots in the BBright colors, and have been storing them in their original cardboard box for years. It's a very small box that fits nicely in my drawer. I use the carosel from SU! for my SU! pads and the markers are in their original carrying case. But, I do have more markers that I have purchased (SU! and copics) and I've been wondering what I need to buy to put them in. Thanks for the "X" box idea. Off to the store this weekend.

I too store my color spots in the SU clamshell cases. I put them together by colors, that way when I am looking for a green I can see all my greens together, etc. I don't have many full sized pads. I bought all the spots and when the new colors come out I only buy the refills and put them onto new uninked spots. It works good for me as I take my stamping stuff with me in my motor home quite often.
I envy you all who have a separate room for stamping. I am using our smallest bedroom as my "activity" room for my hobbies. I do genealogist, a quilter, a Sunday School teacher, and a stamper. So all my supplies, books, equipment must be kept in one room. So storage is a major problem for me. I have found that 3-ring notebooks with the various inserts and protective sleeves are the best way for me to store flat items. Rubbermaid shoe size containers hold most of my stamping supplies and tools. I use plastic pencil boxes with attached lids from Staples for smaller items. Because of my limited storage, and my increasing quantity of stamps, I cannot store my stamps in the plastic cases they come in. So each stamp is numbered on the end and stored in photo boxes from JoAnns. I copy the label sheet and place the corresponding number on the copy and keep the copy in a small 3-ring notebook.
