I just went and looked at the gallery and there are already over 900 cards uploaded. Is that not mind-blowing?!
Which brings me to my question: do you know of a stamper (in the haystack) that you think is fabulous, but is not well known and would make a fantastic dirty girl? I love it when a new dirty girl just
"appears" before me. Sometimes I get caught off guard and I think it is because, unless they are doing the challenges, many great stampers fall through the cracks and I don't know of them. However, I know the mods and JulieHRR are keeping a close eye!
So, do you know of anyone? (I can't think of a name right now....I know, I start the thread and have no name....)
In the few years I've been on SCS, I've only heard of about half the DD. They appear, they are wonderful, and I had not previously been aware of them at all. It's amazing. There are probably HUNDREDS of stampers on this board good enough to be dirty. I can't imagine how they plow through them all and choose the ones they do. One thing that tells you though, is that it is not a popularity contest-everyone on this board does not have to know the girls before they are chosen.
Do you mean, what is a dirty girl? I am going to assume that. It is a group of stampers that are chosen to showcase their talents. They call themselves the Dirty Girls, I guess because they are playing in the dirt pile ie. playing with the ink...getting those fingers inky! You can view their artwork on the 15th of every month in a special gallery, but you need to be a member of SCS. Just click on 'Home' and it will get you started. All the info is there. These stampers are very, very good and make some fabulous creations. It is always a secret as to who will be the next dirty girl (they rotate monthly and work on the team , for I think, 6 months).
Location: I had no idea it could snow this much in the desert!

Yes, you answered it! Thanks, I had no idea when I read dirty girl, and was afraid I'd assume wrong :-D
I'm new to the site, but there are a lot of gals whose works just knock my socks off! I'm going to go visit more galleries and get more ideas...

I tell you, the uploads are Crazy here! When I joined back in Oct 05 I could sit down at the end of the evening and go through all the uploads in about an hour to an hour and ahalf, now I can't keep up with viewing the uploads!
Now to pick out the next Dirty Girl, That is a real hard one. Thank Goodness for JulieHRR and the other mods to do this!!

Is there a way to check in our favorites and tell quickly if someone is party of the dirty gals? I'm sure I have some in my favorites. I know many are dirty, but some of the others, I'm not sure??
Denise your work is beautiful. May i nominate you?
Nooooooo. I could never be a dirty girl. And you know why? Because I think the girls chosen are very "well rounded, creatively speaking". They can make bags, purses, altered books, tins, calendars, boxes; they can do tons of different techniques without relying on DP. And many of them come up with their own sketches all the time. They invent creative things. Like 4Hounds and her beautiful ribbon flower.
All of this is just beyond me. All I can do is make a card. So I think the dirty girls really are extra special and more creative than the average card maker. I think that is why they are chosen.
Thanks though. That was a very nice compliment! (And I still have not gotten a name yet....how do they find these relatively unknown artists among the masses? Ugh. What a difficult job).
I can't remember who was or is a DG, but here's a few galleries I like to visit:
