Default Substitute for SU Whisper White?

I just got a job working in a brand new Scrapbooking Store here in Calgary (called Scrapbook Pantry, in the north by the Sobeys and Country Hills Plates on Country Hills Blvd... guess it's technically NE). The store will be opening on Thursday morning.

My job at the store is to teach stamping classes, design card samples and work in the store part time. I am really excited about this new opportunity.

Anyway.... I need to find some cardstock that would be an OK substitute for Whisper White for the store owner to order in. In my opinion, you need a nice smooth cardstock for your everyday stamping to get a good crisp image. Cardstocks with tooth have their place too, but I'd really like her to carry a good white cardstock

Help me out??? Suggestions?

How about the Bazzil Smoothies cardstock? I haven't used it but have seen many people who have!

By the way, congrats! Hope you enjoy it!

Doesn't Prism have an ultrasmooth for stamping? I think that's what my LRSS carries for stamping. Good luck - I know you'll do awesome!

I've been using Beckett Expressions Radiance 80# ultra smooth white for quite a while now (bought a case of it from a local supplier several years ago) and I still love it. Before then, all I used was the SU Whisper White.

Beckett has another color that's actually closer to Whisper White (think it's called Iceberg) but I prefer the ultra white Radiance myself. Oh - one advantage I've noticed with the Beckett Radiance is that it doesn't feather when trimmed, which my WW always did. Hope that helps.

I too use beckett expressions. I got mine from papermatters.com, since it was MUCH MUCH cheaper then Marco's. i got a ream for about 18-19 dollars. There are 250 sheets in a ream. I got one each of radiance and Iceberg. I agree Iceberg is closest in color to the SU whisper white, but I myself prefer radiance which is a slightly brighter white. I love this paper and when compared side by side even demonstrators can't tell the difference. You can find it on the paper matters site under specialty then under cover weight.

I use XpedX 80lb Brilliant White.....excellent white.....smooth but not too smooth. $11.50 or so a ream of 250....excellent price. I purchase mine from a PNW place called Arvey's. Don't know who else carries it.

Neenah Solar White 80-lb., also get it from XPedX, but 250 sheets is about $25.00. Works great though.

I have been using Conquerer Diamond White 80# stock for about 7 years now with no problems. They also have a really heavy weight in same color ( I think it is about 110 lb. weight) that I use for anything nice. It is so heavy and feels so expensive! I love the stuff.

I'm sorry, but I've never seen anything as nice as whisper white...and I held out on that one for a long time before I tried it - now there is no going back.

Good luck on the new job by the way - sounds like fun!

I'm not sure of the name of it, but Hobby Lobby carries a brand that is similar texture like, but is of a thinner quality.
