Default Do I NEED Basic Brown?

I was debating about getting basic brown because it is suppose to be waterproof. Those of you that have it, do you love it? Is it a must have? Is the color more like close to cocoa or chcolate chip? Just wondering if I NEEDED to spend that money on Basic Brown or if I can get away with using one of the other colors!

Thanks!

YES!

(I'm such an enabler...)

I got one mostly for the waterproof part, but I love it. It's closer to Close to Cocoa then Chocolate Chip. I've used it with the watercolor pencils, with a Versamarker and Pearl Ex, and by itself.

My only complaint is that it smells funny...but that might be a pregnancy related thing.

Default Brown

Yes, you need it. I am so use to doing everything in black and coloring it, and the brown just looks so classic and clean. You'll love it.

ABSOLUTE MUST!!!
Black can sometimes be to bold of a color when you are looking for something a little more softer but still dark enough to show detail.

I agree with the others. I love it, a must have if you're doing any watercoloring. It's softer than black. I showed it with the Aqua Painters and sold 2 or 3.

Once you use it for yourself, you'll agree!

YES!!! Basic Brown is a Must-Have item! I am so thrilled with this. I did a really fantastic card at a recent workshop (which reminds me that I must upload it ASAP) using this pad and the Peaceful Pastoral. I then watercolored it with the Aqua Painter. It really looked nice!

I second the previous comment about how sometimes black is just too stark a color to use. Now, if I could just get SU! to come out with a Basic Gray pad I would be good to go!

Yep, you gotta have it

I didn't order it when I was at convention (even though I had used it and liked it). Then when I got back home and replicated a card we made at convention (but using Basic Black) I decided I had to order it...I'm glad I did!

I love the Basic Brown when doing watercolor with a vintage type stamp set. It looks so good with that!

lets see - what have I ordered ONLY because of this list:
extra yo yo yellow pad (to clean ink off stamps - tip from Kymber)
simply circles (sooo many awesome samples)
Just Jeans (Lana's fault)
Crafters tool kit - (all the great reveiws)
Pickles paper - love that color combo and have seen CUTE things done with it
Loads of love (too many cute samples and out of the box ideas)
etc etc etc... I could go on and on....

Now I have to add the Basic Brown classic pad! LOL - by the end of the weekend, that list will have grown some more.....

Yes you NEED it! I love it because it gives a softer look for watercoloring.

I noticed an odor to it too and I'm NOT pregnant!

Default Basic Brown Pad

I didn't think I needed this because you can use the Brown Staz-On pad on paper and it is waterproof.

Default Yo Yo Yellow Pad

Good Evening,
I am just tuning in to this post and do have the Basic Brown and agree with all of the others that it is a MUST have. Especially if you love the outdoorsy, animal, manly kinda stamping like I do! Great with Yukon and the new Noble Deer sets. I was wondering where I could find the post on the extra yo yo yellow pad used to clean your stamps or if someone could fill me in on that post. I missed it and am curious as to how this works.
Have a great weekend folks.
