Default Mr. Clean erasers & basic black ink

I tried using a dampened Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to clean SU Classic Basic Black ink off of my rubber stamps.

It works ladies!! I am in love with these Mr. Clean Magic Erasers anyway, as it takes anything (crayon, pencil, pen - you name it) off of walls & appliances.

I am going to try kymbers_stampin method too of designating a yoyo yellow classic pad to clean the black from my stamps though. I have a feeling the yoyo yellow will be more cost effective in the long run.

Scotch makes their own magic eraser; I have a coupon but this product has not hit my stores yet.

Has anyone else tried this?

I was afraid of the chemical compound of the Magic Eraser. I've heard they are fabulous. I wonder if it would get the ink off the hard wood floor from where I shot a Basic Black across the room. Any idea? I would buy one just for that because my landlady will have a fit if it's there when I move out.

Default Mr. Clean

Yeah! I love these things and use them for scuffs, fingerprints, coffee and tea spills, berry juice, you name it. I also LOVE Color Wonder products for our son's projects. The markers and fingerpaints don't color on things other than the paper, how great is that????

Okay, I'm off to try this on my mom's stamps that I just borrowed. Wonder if it would work on the ones I used Stazon ink with. Hmm...

I have tried the Mr Clean Magic Erasers and I love them. I work for a large moving company and our drivers carry them to take off the scuffs etc they accidently leave  They seem to work on almost anything but I never thought of using them on my stamps. Might have to try that. Thanks

A friend on mine had her grandson over and her colored all over her oak computer desk with a black sharpie marker, she used lotion to get it out. It took her a couple of days of going over it but it looks great now.

Sorry can't help you out on if the Mr. Clean Eraser will work!

I don't know about the eraser for stamps, but do use a bit of caution when using on furniture. It can take the finish off if you rub too hard. I love it and use it all tims, but use a gentle hand. I wouldn't use it on antiques!

I have never tried it on furniture but I do know that it works great on appliances, those black scuff marks on lino from shoes, walls, counter tops and probably lots of other surfaces as well! Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever need some of my other cleaning supplies!

the mr clean eraser has no chemicals in it. the way it works is that the material has tiny grips or loops all over it, and when you rub it on something it catches on it and rubs it off.

Cindy, you mentioned using a yoyo yellow pad to clean your stamps. What did you mean by that? I didn't see that post.

My toddler got a hold of an ink pen and drew all of my coffee table. Not only was there ink all over the table, but he pushed so hard that he left tracks/indents all over. I was so sick about it and tried several things to get the ink off and finally remember that I had some of those magic erasers. And yes, it was like magic! The ink came right off. I was worried about the finish on the wood, but after I scrubbed on it a little and polished it up with some liquid gold it looked great. Of course, my table is now "antiqued" because of the whole ordeal, but it doesn't pain me to look at it anymore.

I love those erasers! We have a duplex we rent out. We had a single mother with 4 kids under 6 move out in July. I think the kids lived there by themselves by the way it was left. There was marker on every wall and door frame in the house. It did wonders and saved me alot of work and money. It did take the stain off some of the doors where I had to rub hard.

I will have to try them on my borrowed stamps next time. I hate returning them dirty. I am going to try the yoyo yellow too. I did notice that when making a yellow & black card the other day. The yellow does take the black off the stamp.

I have bought A LOT of Mr. Clean erasers since they came out. I use them to get crayon and marker off the walls, even in the bathroom they work great! Our Menards (Home inprovement store) had them on sale one day a 2 pack for free after rebate so thought I would try them, been hooked ever since!! And as someone said those Color Wonder markers and paper is awesome too... using that I don't get the marker marks on my walls anymore!!

I went through my whole house one day with one - too much fun watching spots that you thought were there forever disappear. But be careful on walls - will take some paint off with the stain!! Rub carefully!!

Those erasers are the best. They last a long time too. The only thing I don't like is how yucky they look (I guess that it means that they are really working). I will definately try them on my stamps. What a great idea. Just rub gently on painted walls and wood surfaces. They do tend to take paint and finish off if you aren't gentle.

Default mr clean erasers

These things are the best thing since sliced bread! I feel like my house is brand new after running around with one of them. It's funny that this was posted because I was just telling my friends at work that they get anything off - permanent marker, stamp pad ink, etc.

Great minds think alike!

Default Mr. Clean erasers & basic black ink

I have a Mr. Clean eraser and I'm going to try it. I would like to know what the Yo Yo Yellow pad has to do with the Classic Black Ink pad? I have an old style Yo Yo Yellow will it help keep my stamps clean?

I heard about this some time back - and I tried it............. not only did it NOT get any ink off of my stamps, but the magic eraser just shredded all over the place! Am I doing something wrong?

I use the eraser all over my house and don't have any problems!

The Magic Eraser is just that, an eraser so it disinegrates like a pencil eraser does! That's how you know you are using it right!

I didn't chuck it, I shot it As in when I opened it and tried to put it in place it went shooting across the room off it's base and as we all know, it had to land most damage causing side down (like when you drop a piece of bread with peanut butter on it). Nothing ever lands right side up. Of course, I guess, since up is down and down is up with the pad, it did land right side up.

I just got my free Magic eraser in the mail about two weeks ago and I just tossed it under my kitchen sink with all the other supplies. I'm so going to take it out tonight and use it on my lino floor in the kitchen. There are so many scuff marks and plain old pine sol just doesn't get it up. I can't wait to try it tonight. I'm gonna try on the stamps as well!!

Be careful using Mr. Clean magic erasers on your tile floors. I used it to clean up some scuff marks that the kids left, and then when I walked away, I realized that I now had a *WHITE* spot on the tile, and around it was this color I didn't recognize. I did not realize the floor was that discolored till I used the Mr. Clean.. ROTFL! And to think I had been cleaning the floor every few days. Well, I had the 3 kids each take a magic eraser, and we each tackled a section of the kitchen and the hall. Probably took us an hour to do the whole floor, but was well worth the effort. I could not believe how dirty the floor was, even after I had cleaned it with my mop and solution. YIKES! So please be careful with these, they could cause you to have more work then you want to do. ROTFL! Seriously though, I love these things and go throug a box of them every few weeks, because I use them *ALL* the time. Mine don't seem to last as long, since I am using them a ton. I did get the new ones from scotch to try, and also got the new ones with the backing on them, will have to see if I like them better.

I posted about the Yoyo Yellow pad last year on Stampin' Discuss because I found it took the black ink off your stamps. I had been using an alphabet stamp with black and was trying to stamp it with the yellow...that's how I found out.

It actually is any of the inks that have yellow in them, so Summer Sun will do it too, and some of the other colors to some degree!

I LOVE the magic erasers...there's nothing that works so well on those textured refrigerator door handles. You do have to be careful to rinse them out frequently; they do take the dirt off your wall, but they are not that great at absorbing it. So it's good to have a paper towel and some orange cleaner or something to clean the residue it leaves off the wall.

The erasers are also great at cleaning the ink off the outside of your ink pads! Every now and then I sit down with a magic eraser and a pair of scissors, clean up the case with the eraser and give the pad a nice trim around the edges where it has frayed. THey end up looking brand new!

I just found a new use for magic erasers! My two girls chose to wear saddle shoes to their Catholic school and you know what that means! Endlessly scuffed toes! Tonight they came out with their shoes at the last minute before bed wailing about the scuff marks. Aha! I thought and ran to grab a magic eraser.

It worked beautifully. We'll still need to polish on occasion, but I won't have to bother to get saddle soap to clean the leather beforehand! Magic eraser to the rescue again!

Really stretching this topic, but, Jan, have you tried kitchen Jubilee to shine shoes? Much faster than shoe polish, and really shiny.

QVC sells another brand of erasers (just like the magic eraser) but, cheaper. Did anyone see it on The Apprenntice last night? My mother in law has been buying these for a while now. I have used both. they work the same- I love them!
Mon. 10-11-04 on QVC the people from The Apprentice show will be selling these again. You might want to catch it. Good luck to all who are interested.

I too, very much have come to like the magic erasers. I have recently began using them on my scissors that i use to cut my stamps with. It gets rid of the sticky mess that gets built up on the scissors!

My DD colored on my dining room table with a red sharpie and the magic eraser got it all off. I did lose a tiny bit of finish on one spot where I rubbed too hard, but that's much less offensive to me that bright red marker.
