I don't like stamping on bazzill paper. Is that wierd?

I have this thing buggin me and so I decided I would ask everyone here. How do you feel about stamping on bazzill?
I am more of a bold person and I guess that is why I don't like stamping on bazzill. It leaves too many empty spaces underneath the beautiful texture.

Since I want to get into scrapbooking and bazzill is a great background I figure I should get some but then I contemplate what will I do as far as stamping?

Oh well, just my crazy thought for the day It is good to have one every day, right?

I've stamped on Bazzill before, and many times it turns out great. Other times - not so much. I guess you could always use non-textured cs for stamping on...

I think you are right. I love the texture, but I hardly ever stamp on it unless it's just part of the background. On this page Prayer, I stamped an ivy pattern with versamark on the bazzill paper.

I agree with you! I don't really like that cs. I have some I use as bg pieces because Stampin Up! didn't sell that exact color I needed but that is all I use it for.

I don't think your wierd at all Sometimes stamping on Bazzill looks great, sometimes not. It just depends on the look you're going for I guess.

I don't always like the look on textured Bazzill. But I must admit that Bazzill smoothees are my favourite paper to stamp on. They're nice and heavy, just like the textured stuff. I do use the textured stuff for card bases, etc.

I totally agree with you. I want a clean, crisp line when I stamp and you can't get that from any textured paper that I know about. If you really want Bazzill then look for some of it which has less texture to it. It comes in different textures.

I use Bazzill a lot. If I want to stamp on it and get clear detail from the stamp, I turn it over to the smooth side to stamp on. Then I can use the textured side in the layers and it is an exact match with two different textures. If I'm doing something that I want to look grundgy, I stamp on the textured side.

I love the Bazzill papers....I use them alot for BG,but also stamp directly also...I love the way this one turned out for my brother.....

I love the fact that there are so many shades of Bazzill and that they coordinate with so many different brands of the DP on th market. But for stamping, not so much.

I've also stamped on the back/smooth side of Bazzill paper. The colors are wonderful and that way I can still coordinate everything.

I love Bazzill! ;) Stamping on textured paper can be a challenge. I've had alot of luck with a technique I read somewhere(???). Rather than stamping on a hard surface, place a cushy mouse pad (or something similar) under the paper. Hold your stamp in place while counting to 10 or more. This seems to help get the ink into the nooks and crannies. Using a cushion also works well with unmounted stamps, both rubber and acrylic that have no cushion of their own. Believe or or not, stamping while standing seems to give me much better images.

I love the look of stamped bazzill especially on box lids etc. I always use fluid chalk ink, it gives a lovely soft look and I don't get any uninked areas. Practice on scraps, using different inks. I don't stamp on it if I need to colour in though. The scrolls etc look great on gift bags/boxes. Don't give up.
PS have tried bleaching ( taking out the colour of stamped image areas )on bazzill it looks sensational.

I'm not a SU demo, but a scrapbooker, and this site has so many unique color combinations, I wouldn't even bother with Bazzill, unless you love that product. It is hard to stamp on, but not all cardstock of theirs is textured, just not sure how you find out which ones aren't. One of my disappointments is Bazzill doesn't have any color combinations anywhere for scrapbook layout, unless you buy one of their idea books first before ordering. As a scrapbooker, I would check the color combinations you love on this site, and find something comparable in another store or SU and start your pages from there. My personal preference is a two page layout, facing each other with stamped only pages, no stickers, but embellishments are ok.
I feel stamped pages are the best looking layout, if using that only, co-ordinating themed papers and cardstock also work Haven't done much scrapbooking lately, due to lack of pictures, grandkids have become busy teenagers that we don't see as often anymore, darn

I absolutely love Bazzill paper, but I am in total agreement with you, I don't like stamping on it either! I use it mainly for paper crafting and scrapbooking, and absolutely love the high quality of it, but not for stamping, I need a flat texture!

I've been playing around more with stamping on my textured card stocks, and I've found that I get much better results with chalk inks and versafine. Not happy using standard dye ink (SU), though!

I have found that the pigment inks work nicer on the textured cardstock and I pretty much reserve my dye inking to smooth CS only. Generally, I use the textured CS (DoubleMates) for layers/borders or the actual card and smooth CS (coordinating ColorMates and whites) for stamping.

I love Bazzill paper....I find that I usually use it for the card base or layers and seldom for the stamped image itself. Like one other poster....if I must use it for the stamped image, I flip it to the smooth side....the best of both worlds.

Yep, what she said. I also run the smooth side through my printer when printing from my computer.

How WEIRD! I'd never thought of actually STAMPING on it! I have a ton of it, and only use it for bases, or mats....never to stamp on! Strange, eh? Mainly because I like a nice, clean image so I think it would freak me out!

I LOVE BAZZILL!! It is by far my fav paper - great colour range. When I need to stamp on it I flip to the smooth side - perfect image every time. I use the textured side for card bases, mats, punched shapes etc.
