Default What old stamps do you always go back to over and over?

I have been making my Thank You cards and wound up using one of my old stamp sets from 1998 called "Feathered Hope" It is a beautiful, timeless set that I just seem to pick up and use every so often. I will never get rid of it. Another old set that I go back to use every once in a while is Hand Painted Petities. I don't use either set all the time, just once in a while and they feel like timeless classics. The other one I will never get rid of and use at least once a season is Happy Winter and the wreath stamp from Nellie the Nest Lady. That is one of my favorite all time stamps. Talk about classic and versatile! I would never get rid of that set just because of that one stamp!

So my question for all of you is, what is/are your timeless classic stamp sets? I am not talking about ones you use constantly that are bought within the last few years. I am talking about ones from the past that you use every now and again but always are pleased to use, like seeing an old friend. I think the one that will someday be a classic for me is Lovely as a Tree but since I have only had it for about 5 or 6 years, I can't quite put it in this catagory yet.

I also have a few single stamps that are at least 10 years old that fit into this catagory.

I would love to see your classics too. Please think about it and let me know. I guess I am sentimental at this time of year and using these old stamps just gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Happy New Years to all.

I really love Farm Fresh and Wonderful Woodcuts. I don't use them very often but I would never DREAM of getting rid of them- that would be a nightmare!

For a super quick Thank You card...I always reach for an old denami tulip.

I agree about "Feathered Hope" - but my all-time favorite remains "Gentler Times". I think it's just about perfect.

Wow! Soft as a Feather was one set I had always had pangs of regret about not getting. I also love Gentler Times! Reminds me of Feathered Hope. I would say those are both classic.

Now about the Denami Tulip, I have that stamp or one of theirs like it, and that is one of those classics for me too.

Here are my other 3 single stamps that will never leave this nest:

-Magenta larger single flower from about 1997

-Image Printery floppy converse sneaker from 1994. I think every school kid I know has gotten something with this stamp in their school colors over the years. Love this stamp and so does everyone who gets it.

-Stampouri tiny bouquet stamp designed by Lisa Hindsley in 1997.

I love seeing what every one else feels is classic. Funny part is that a lot of them have a commonality. Thanks so much. This makes me feel really good and makes me think about old friends, I mean stamps.

Lovely as a Tree. It's not retired, but I've had it for years and use it regularly.

Lovely as a Tree is a favorite of mine as well. A friend just gave me Feathered Hope since she had never used it. I'm now making some cards with it to give her as a thank you! In the nature vein, I also use Fantastic Foliage quite a bit and All Aboard for the masculine touch...

I would have to say that my 'old go to' set is Graduation, which retired in 2002. I bought it, knowing I could probably use it every time a niece or nephew or cousin gradated from high school. The images in the set do not look too dated, even after 8 years.

For general purpose stamping, the "Filigree" background stamp is one that I reach for time and time again.

Lovely as a Tree, Fantastic Foliage, Terrific Tulips, Fish Frolics. These are my favorites, even though "Tree" isn't retired yet. It will still be a favorite when it does.

I go back to solid image, funkier flowers like Bloomin' Wonderful, Groovy, Blossom set from last year's SAB, to name a few. Some older vintage sets like Artifacts and Office Ephemera get dragged out for masculine cards. The new book can't have everything in it, I guess!

Hedgehog Happiness & Holiday Hedgehogs. I do have several current/recently retired sets that I turn to all the time though.

Definitely the hedgies - I'll never part with them! The first set I bought was Quilts Give Comfort. I don't use it often but would put it in the "old friend" category. My hands-down all-time favorite is Paint Prints. I can't believe that never made the catty. It was a SAB set several years ago.

Lovely as a Tree will never get old with me. I really think it is the most versatile set I own! You can make pretty much any kind of card with it!

Lovely as a Tree and Heartfelt Thanks are my two favourite stampsets. For kids my faves are the fishy friends/silly sealife and unfrogettable.

I love my tree line stamp from Alextamping and the season name set from Stampin' Up, but one of my all time favorite stamps is one called Lilly Square from Beeswax. I've used it for Thank Yous, Thinking of Yous, Easter, Sympathy, Anniversary, etc. It is really versatile.

Love, love, love that set too. I use it quite a bit still!! I also love Easy Elegance from a winter mini 2 years ago I think. That too never made the big catty. And I think Sassy Stems will fall into this category for me too, even though it just retired.

Gentler Times for me too -- although it has quickly become my mom's favorite too. She has it now. But I can "have it back" anytime I need it (she says).

I'm a fairly recent convert to stamping, but Heartfelt Thanks was one of the first sets I ever bought...I go back to that frequently.

But, my go to stamp is the Linen background...it just gives so much more texture to my cards!

Stipple Rose is definitely a Go-To set for me as well as Art of Life which was a hostess appreciation set from a couple years back. I just LOVE that set. I am a sucker for most realistic or vintage or watercolor-y floral sets anyway.
