Do you all like the SU Incentive Stamps? Those are the miscellaneous stamps that demos give away, some say hand stamped and some are just little pictures or symbols. I'm just looking for an honest opinion from those of you who know what I'm talking about.
Do you like to get them or do you think they are cheesy? Thanks for your honest opinion!
It's fun to get something for free, but the only incentive stamps that I've actually used are the 'Stamped by' stamps. The others have just kind of 'lived' in my generic stamp bin, never seeing the color of ink... :(
I didn't know they were called "incentives" but I went to a couple of workshops by a demo a couple of years ago and one time she gave us a stamp from Merry Minis or Year Round Fun II or a set like that and the other time she let us pick a color from the spots. I was floored that she did this so certainly I continued to buy from her until she quit. So, yes, I like incentives IF they are something I'll use.
I have a whole set of small talk that was given to me by a friend who WAS a demo and was clearing out her stuff...she kept 1 set and gave me the other set - I love the small talk ones - mainly because they go with so many of the other stamp sets in the catalog... like this one that goes with Fun Filled
The handstamp ones are nice - I have 3 of them that were given to me by my demo - IMO if you are going to get incentive stamps to give away these are the ones you would want to give...especially useful for those just starting out to have a "stamped by" stamp to use....
I love some of the jumbo ones...but I think I would reserve those maybe for "thank you's" to customers that do stamp alot - as they would appreciate them more then a "newbie" - KWIM...

I like the incentive stamps, but my demo always lets me pick the one I want. I have used them but I have also let kids use them so I don't have to worry about them being careless with my other stamps.

I love getting them, especially since I usually buy a lot and my current demo doesn't do much in the way of extras otherwise (no specials other than those the company has, etc.). I feel like I should be getting something for all the money I spend with her since there are other demos that would love to have my business. Some of the older incentive stamps I don't like because they weren't my style, but I've gotten a bunch of the hand-stamped ones that I use a lot. I've never seen the larger incentive stamps other than ebay (and my demo doesn't seem to do those either unless she buys them for herself), so I can't comment on getting those - I wish I had some!
i like the incentive stamps... any free stamp is a good stamp. ;) my demo - in the past - has given me a few of the "stamped by" ones along with a stampin' spot as a hostess gift. it's a nice gesture and a good way to showoff the stampin' spots too... in case anyone wants to know what they are or how big they actually are. Just my 2cents.

I prefer the larger ones. I think I probably have all of the ones (large and small) that have been offered in recent years...I have quite a few of the divided alphabet cases full of the small ones and a case that is full with the mroe recently offered large style.
I think any type of incentive is nice. My demo usually raffels different type of incentives from tags, to cardstock, small stamps and just recently layouts. Raffling also makes it exciting to see who will get the gift! As a customer I think having any type of incentive makes us feel appreciated for attending.
I have never ben to a stampin up workshop but have purchased alot from same demo but never was I given anything in a order or for hosting but incentives would be great
I really like them too, but my demo seems to use them less and less!!
Maybe its because I am in a stampers 10 and we alerady know how to mount them so she doesnt show them at our parties
Anything is much appreciated. I liked the incentive stamps more when I didn't have so many stamps & was new at stamping. Would like to see my demo 'mix up' the treats she gives to the hostess & uses for the 'thank you' raffle at a party - maybe a spot, marker of a new color, a refill, some cardstock, envies, sampling of brads, eyelets, etc -- especially if the group is one the demo's been with for awhile. And this may seem like a lot, but maybe even give away a retired stamp set that they won't be using any longer! Be as creative as the business you are in!

Yes, I like them, BUT I like them a lot better when I can pick which one I get. I don't mean to look a gift horse in the mouth, but if I can pick it, I will pick one that matches a set I have (or want), whereas the ones I have gotten randomly have just kind of sat around and collected dust for the most part.
I do like the "stamped by" ones tho - regardless of who picks them! I use those the most of any I've ever received.
The reason I am asking is because it is time for me to purchase some and I don't know if they are worth it or how much everyone likes to get them. All of the handstamped ones that I had are gone and now all I have left is those oddball misc stamps that (in my opinion) are not very useful. I am a little embarrassed to give away those odd ones. It sounds like you all really like to get them but some of you have said that you prefer the handstamped ones, which is what I was thinking. When I purchase a set, only half (or maybe less) will be those handstamped ones and the rest are just weird.
Anything free is a bonus! I personally like to receive the inspiration sheets. My regular demo hasn't given the incentive stamps out. If you have a party, you can pick a stamp from her basket but those are from the sets in the catalog. Many times when I have won auctions on Ebay, I'd get an incentive stamp. I often wondered about those little stamps since they weren't in the catty. Thanks for solving a mystery for me!

As a SU Demonstrator, I love them. I have been a demonstrator for 2 months now and have already given away 2 full sets - not just to hostesses, but also raffling them off along with a stampin' spot. I think they're great for tags, etc. and I just believe that by my investing into my business right when I started (with no money to do so either), was smart as my calendar for workshops is booked until September right now. I like the style of the small incentive stamps and I think they're fun to use and an inexpensive way to let your customers/hostesses know you appreciate them!
My demo has both the large and small incentive stamps available. She allows members of our stamp club and guests to pick either a large or small one from the box depending on how large our order is. I love being able to choose one from the box. I sometimes spend several minutes just deciding which one to get.
I still like the smaller ones better than the larger ones, but I think I might be in the minority. I also like many of the retired sets and have sometimes been flabbergasted at the sets that become popular and the sets that stay in the catalog year after year.
The incentive stamps are definitely an incentive to me. I will bump up my order sometimes just to earn one.
My current demo does not use them, and I wish she did. I regularly use a "stamped by" incentive stamp that my previous demo gave me for a booking from my show. I'd love to have more.

Why did she make things? Well, she enjoyed it, of course; it also somehow helped her remember who she was and where she came from.
I really like giving out the inspiration sheets. I know I will for sure continue to get those. If you guys had to choose, would you rather have the stamps or the inspiration sheets? I think it is cool to collect the inspiration sheets. I have a binder with all of them in it and I get excited for the new ones to come out.
In addition to the incentive stamps, my demo has also given us customers, who are good regulars, a stamp from the Handmade with Love sets (The Angel Policy stamps).
It's a nice way to reward your better customers, and you're purchasing something that counts towards your Demo total rather than just purchasing a 'supply' item...

I have done that a couple of times also. I like those a lot!

I only have recieved two incentive stamps and they were donated for a raffle for a nonprofit I was involved in.
I have recieved a "thank you" packet recently and it included a blank puzzle card, gold embossing powder and cat eye gold pigment pad, and some red mulberry paper.. it was a really nice touch, and since I own nothing in gold, it was nice to have.
You could also consider other things like eyelets, ribbon, a sheet of specialty paper or some other stamping accessory that won't cost you much but is a cool gift and will also introduce your customers to accessories that they might not ever have tried. Some of these items may take a little more effort (like putting eyelets into baggies), etc, but you'd need to decide if that's worth it.
I received an incentive stamp with a stampin' spot at a party I went to - it was a door prize. A nice gesture and a cute size for doing tags, envies, etc.
I am hoping to become a demo soon, and I was thinking of putting a small stamp with a stampin' spot inside of a fruit cup tin, that way the customer gets the enjoyment of opening it and the idea to make their own fruit cup tin. It is nice to know that SU demos can purchse something like that. I can't wait to see all of the otherthings that are offered to demos!
I LOVE THEM! I LOVE THEM! I just got my first two bigger ones recently. Before I just had the little ones. Mine have their own little stamping up container!
I won a handstamped incentive stamp at my first party and I use it all the time! Winning that stamp made me feel special, but I'm not sure I would use the other incentive stamps. They would have to match sets I already own. I like PlaysWithInk's idea of getting other things like Inspirations sheets or ribbon. I really like Superfan's idea of putting a small stamp with a Stampin' Spot (wish I knew about those spots sooner) inside of a fruit cup tin. I love learning new ways to use stamps!!!

I would absolutely LOVE it if my demo did this! I agree with some of the other posters, I pretty much only use the "hand stamped by" incentive stamps....but I'll take anything for free!
I really like that my demo puts together paper scraps and ribbons as incentive prizes as well!
My original demonstrator had a pkg of them and when we hosted a party as part of our stampers 10 club we got to pick one. She moved out of town and someone else signed up to be a demo and took over. The second person never gave them out. It was a nice "touch". I'm not a demo so I don't know how much they cost you guys. If cost is an issue, my original demo used to give to the hostess of a home party a small item she had made herself..i.e a basket made from stamped and folded cardstock filled with candies wrapped in stamped paper to match. that was fun to get too.
I would prefer stamps over inspiration sheets any day. I think inspiration sheets are nice and I'm sure that many customers appreciate them, but my true thrill is in creating original designs. I'm not much of a CASER.
Just give me some cute itty bitty little stamps and I'm happy.
My demo gives away the incentive stamps---in the beginning I couldn't wait to earn them, but as time went by I found I didn't use them that often, most of them just collect dust, only a few get used all the time. She lets us pick our own, which I love. I wish she gave away inspirationsheets or scraps, or spots(now that would be awesome). Good luck, I hope this helps ;-)
I have bought three different "handmade by" stamps. One off of E-Bay. no less! Use them constantly as every card gets stamped with one of them. I have one stating "handmade with love" for very close friends and family. One with a teddy bear for those who know I'm a teddy bear collector. The other is simply "handmade just for you" for our church shut-ins I don't know personally.
I would have absolutely loved getting one from my demo. They really are my most used stamps in my whole collection!
