I wasn't sure where to post this, but what is supposed to happen if you get "elfed"? I was "elfed" a few weeks back. I thought you were supposed to get something in the mail. Is that wrong? Then I guess I am supposed to elf a person or two. I will admit that I did not do that. I usually do the thing I am supposed to do then never get anything in return, so I decided this time I would hold out. Maybe I misunderstood this concept?
Sorry if this is not the right forum, but I was not sure where to ask, and I thought someone might see it here.
I was also elfed but didn't receive anything. I gave my name and address to the right person. I also responded after the elfing was closed because of too many participants so I couldn't elf anyone. Anyway, whoever elfed me, it was fun knowing someone thought of me.

I don't think the originator of the concept realized how time-consuming this was going to be. I was Elf-ed and received a wonderful Yankee candle in the mail. I submitted two names of members I'd like to Elf, but never got their addresses.
I'm still hoping there will be some follow through. It was fun to participate, and I'd like to have my two nominees experience the same fun!

I remember seeing a thread from the end of November about the "elfing" being so popular and so much work, that they were going to pass on the addresses up until that point and then leave everyone on their own to finish Elfing.

Important Elf News!
Dear Elves,
We are once again awed by the generous spirit of the members of SCS. Every day, we literally have hundreds of PMs with nominations. Over 700 members have been elfed.
Unfortunately, this wonderful project has gotten too big to handle! Our team has been working overtime to get out addresses and answer questions, but we are quickly finding ourselves overwhelmed.
We would like to thank you all for your participation and encourage you to continue to spread the holiday cheer on your own.
We will forward any remaining addresses that we receive. We are sad to have to stop the nomination process.
OK, I just read the copy and paste above. They aren't taking any more names. I do love this stuff, but I tend to always get the short end of the stick so to speak so I thought I'd wait. I am glad I did I guess.
I was also elfed in November. Nominated 2 others and got the addresses and mailed their goodies off. They both figured out who I was and thanked me even though I used Leona's return address. I have not received anything from my Elf and just hope that it was not lost in the mail and that they think I have not posted a thank you. I have to say that the concept was a fun one, maybe it will be tweaked for next year. I will participate again even if I don't get something in return.
I know that one of the two ladies I "elfed" received her gift; she sent me a PM when she received it. I'm not sure if the other lady received hers because I did not read the "Thank you" thread to see if she posted.
I must say, I elfed 2 people and never received any addresses.
A lot of people that were contacted for addresses never responded. So, there were none to send. I think on my list alone I had about 25 non-responses (I was on the "elf team").
I never received anything after being notified that I was being elfed, either, but I sent off my goodies to my two people at the last minute so I'm thinking that my elf might have done the same thing.
I was contacted by the elf team but then notified that they had to stop (can't blame them there!!!) anyway I decided to notify the people I wanted to elf and one of them was the person who wanted to elf me. She and I exchanged small boxes of great little gifts. The other person I tried to elf has never responded but she probably doesn't trust me since I offered to send her something in Sept. or Oct. that I never sent (lost it and just found it the other day) so will send her package anyway now that I found the pk of stickers I wanted to send her originally. It was great fun receiving a package of fun stamping stuff, candy, and I might just elf my elf for Valentines or Easter or Fourth of July as a surprise. Unless she reads this and then it won't be a surprise!!! Today someone else notified me that she hadn't forgotten a package she promised me, she had just been busy for the last 3 weeks. Hope you other ladies get your goodies eventually. Maybe this thread will help cuz maybe your Elfer didn't get your address from the Elf group before they had to stop. Bet they were busy women!!! I was wondering what all the "elfing" business was about as I missed the original thread. Maybe next year you should have to send items, have a thank you posted before your name goes on the list to be elfed like the RAK forum is.
