Default Patting Myself on the Back!

For months I haven't been able to find the floor in my craft area! With everything else going on in life, I hadn't even ventured to my "happy place" in quite awhile. So my demand to myself today was I cannot put ink to paper until I CLEAN UP!

Drum roll please .... I DID IT!! I want to shout it from the mountain tops!! Never thought it was possible! And who knew ... there is carpet in my room!! So, had to pat my own back and brag just a bit (or hide in shame at the look of the place before I jumped in!)

Here's some before and afters ...

And the best part of all ... the top of my desk is finally being seen again!!!!

I'm so jealous! It looks so good! It makes me want to come right over and stamp! ;) I SO wish mine was that clean! I just don't have the energy to clean after all that stamping, cooking, cleaning and socializing! Ick. All I really want to do is crawl under my down comforter and sleep for a day or two. *sigh* But, I don't get to straighten or sleep - nope, it's off to work for me

Great job getting organized. I can seriously tell you that I've been in your shoes many, many times :-) so I completely understand what an accomplishment it is.

Doesn't it free you up to create when your space is neat and tidy? Mine studio could use a deep clean. Maybe I'll do that today. Thanks for the inspiration!

Wow, great job. I told dh, 8 pm Friday night, I am tackling my room.

Then New Years Day, we both are off, and going to reorganize the storage room. I bet he is praying for rain.

I love to clean, get rid of clutter. Some people do this for a living.

Great Job. You should be proud of yourself. My stamping space is a sunroom.
We had Christmas Eve Dinner out there with the family, so I was frantically cleaning up and stashing things the day before. Now, I'll try to keep it neater.

I just made a card for DH, and it's messy already. I get out too much stuff.

I must really be OCD because after every time I use my room, I cannot go to bed until everything is put away and in its place. I hate to walk into the craft room and have anything sitting out. My hubby says OCD...wonder where I got it from. Anyway, I do make a big mess but it is cleaned up and put away every day before I can go to bed. Its like having dirty dishes in the sink when you come down for coffee in the morning. I hate that too.

You Go Girl. Mine has never been that clean. You have inspired me to go down there and get cracking. I want a clean room too:( . My DH can't stand clutter and everywhere I sit turns to clutter. You can totally tell which areas in the house are mine. Someone with OCD would flip if they saw my messes. LOL. My New Years resolution is to clean up and get rid of mass amounts of stuff. I also share my craft area with a very artistic 5 year old, which does not make it any easier. He has almost as much stuff as I do and is also disorganized-No suprise there. Thank you for posting those before pics. I needed to know it can be done. You did a great job and should be very proud.

My little scrap area is organized, but don't look at my table, it's a disaster!
I had to give up my space for the holiday season so I don't have much room to spread out.

I'm in the process *right* now!!!

It really is amazing how messy creatively-inclined people get!!! My stampin' area has been such a mess that I've had to go (dig!) find what I need and then take it upstairs to the kitchen to actually work. Pathetic.

My New Year's goal is to get organized--and not just my stamp room!

Good for you!

I've been looking for ideas to organize my craft space - I have a very small area and no shelves at this point, so it's pretty hard to not have my desk covered. I love to be inspired by how others organize!

Its not just you, I cant make another card, until the mess from the one before is done. I cant go to bed without getting all the dishes washed, and making sure everything is in its place. I would go nutso in a room like that, just cause thats me!! My mom and most of my stamping friends have rooms like that and they are just as crafty as I am. I sometimes wish I could let it go but I cant!! I LOVE the before and after pictures and applaud you finally diving in and taking care of it!!! I also applaud your bravery of putting it on here for all to see, gives people hope!! TFS
