send me an accordian journal thats been all the rave lately? I've seen so many great looking books, but can't seem to figure them out. I would greatly appreciate it and would find something to send back
You are sooooooo lucky! I really wish there was tutorial for these. I actually just spent the last half hour looking at these in the notepad gallery, trying to figure them out. I just told my kids we're going to Costco today because I read Jenn Balcer say she bought notepads there.
I have a ton of chipboard too! Did you guys just figure it out on your own?
I'm hoping a tutorial will be added also - I would love to see one of these in person and understand how to make them. They look so nice in all the pics on the site. Kudos to you Lana for sharing - Your name pops up so ofent, you must be a true gem! Julie Ann

Lana has posted some really great instructions in the forums. Go to techniques, then to the matboard journals instructions. There is a LOOOONG thread, and a shorter one. It's the shorter one you want.
It really is super-simple to make these journals, and you can make them in all different sizes. You just play around till you find your groove. Whether you cover the matboard with paper, or stamp right on it . . . they all look great!
Give 'em a whirl, and when you're done, be sure to share them with us!
Thanks Lana and Jenn - I found the technique explanation on the forum page and printed it out. Would still be nice to see one before trying, but I'm gong to attempt it. Kudos to you both for always having an answer! Julie Ann

I already took pictures for a tutorial. I will write it in the next few days. I took it while making a 4x4 accordeon card, but it can be easily used for different sizes.
That would be me that screwed this whole conversation up! Tiffany asked for an accordian card & then I threw in about looking in the notepad gallery. Sorry!!! I'm keeping my nose out from now on!
Instructions from Marcia and Heather (great PDF files!) for the LITTLE accordian book (the one where the inside is 1/2 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11) are here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Marcia's has pics of the little book I made for Beate, and Heather's is a diagram so you can actually SEE what the pieces look like.
But let me thank Jenn for telling me to look in the technique section for all of these wonderful projects!!! Never thought of looking there, hello! Thank you Jenn!
Checked out the cute card Lana - I LOVE dragonflies - those are adorable. I will have to check out directions for the accordion cards - and the accordion journals. How did I get so addicted to this site in less than a week? Lovin' it! Julie Ann

Jenn, I tried to download the directions for the accordion card, but no luck. I clicked, but nothing happened. Any suggestions? The kids are begging me to take them to the pool - so I'll check back later. Thanks again! Julie Ann

If you have the reader already, and still can't open the file, you may have to check the settings on your browser security. You may have it set to high security levels that won't allow you to download from message boards like this one. HTH
Has anyone told you guys that you are the bomb! Jenn, Beate, Lana.... always so helpful and sweet! What would we ever do without you? Oh so thankful for my friends! BOMBS I tell ya.... Totally Bombalicious!!!
Just one question for Lana, Beate, and Jenn,
How do you guys find time to stamp when you contribute SOOOOOOOOO Much to this forum! I haven't had time to read everything but I am trying to catch up on all the old threads but new ones just keep coming.
You guys are tops!
I agree! I can't see HOW you could possibly stamp so much and contribute so much here. I almost feel I don't have time to stamp - I'm too addicted to this site.
Ditto! I don't know how you all do it - you espeically Jenn - always have an answer ready or know where to find it. We got rained out a the pool, so I'm going to try and download the free-reader now. Thanks for the link! Julie Ann

Quickie answer: This is what I do for my sanity! I make time! Especially late at night, when the kids are sleeping. That's the BEST time for me. I am on a computer all day at work and keep SCS open, so I can see what's going on. Can't be away for too long, ya know. You might just miss something!
That's sweet of you to all say such nice things. It's really quite funny because Jenn and I were just talking on the phone about that--how do we do it all. All I can say, is that I don't know how I do it. Honestly. I just squeeze stamping in whenever I can. Jenn, well she is just good at mult-tasking. The queen of multi-tasking. I often wonder the same things about Beate! How does she do it all? She amazes me with her tutorials, her generosity, and of course her wit! LOL!
I guess if you really think about it though, the answer is simple. Stamping is our passion.
OR
We are just trying to out-do each other! Ha ha ha! It's good competition though, right?
Thanks again for the nice comments. I'm sure Jenn will like them when she gets back from Jack In The Box!
Lana, Beate, and Jenn--we don't care if it's passion, competition, insomnia, or that you might be aliens with time-shifting abilities! Just keep it up!
Man...I missed most of this thread. Where have I been. I must admit that I haven't gotten back in my stampin groove yet since I came back from vacation. I am trying!!!!
Thanks for all the compliments. As for me...I do my housework and then either stamp or upload or just check SCS. I love this site. Pretty addicted...but what can you do. I have good company. LOL
Oh my gosh, Tiffany, I know almost "exactly" where you live! I grew up in South Bend until I was 19 - then I ran off and joined the Navy! My brother just moved to Niles, my parents are still in South Bend. Nice to "meet" you!
I'm with Rehaba. I'm on here instead of stamping! Or I should say instead of surfing elsewhere I guess. I wish I could stay up late and stamp but I'm ready for bed at 9:00. Maybe I'll try getting up earlier...like when the cat wakes me up at 5am. (So far no paws in the ink, but it'll happen.) My 4 yr old, Ian, likes to stamp with me which kinda interrupts the creative process although it can be fun to have the company...!
