So DH and I were checking our lists and making sure that we really did finish all of our Christmas shopping. He says to me "Did you order those marker things you wanted?" I say, "You mean the Copics? No. Why would I?" He says, "Oh. I really wanted to get those for you, but I don't have a clue what they are. I thought I told you to just go ahead and order them." Now, believe me, I would not have missed THAT comment! That's OK...I'll order them tonight and get them a little late! Gosh, I love that man!
Oh thats funny. My husband is a little oblivious to craft stuff. I want the Cuttlebug for Christmas, so i set up his laptop so that when he opens it he sees the image of the cuttlebug and the words "hint, hint!" According to my source I think I might actually get it !!
For my last birthday my hubby came right out and said "why don't you just pull up the page of what you'd like (we are overseas and are forced to order just about anything we want online) and I'll order it for you, so I know you are getting something you really like". NOw I am the jubilant order of a Cuttlebug, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE (though not as much as I love my Hubby of course).

Hee hee...I bought the Copics for myself for Christmas too! We have a Dick Blick store in Dearborn, so I took the 30% off one item coupon I had from there and managed to get them for $70 instead of $100 for 24 markers.
Then my DH actually took my kids Christmas shopping for me the other day. Before they went he asked me what I wanted. I said "A gift card from Scrappy Chic would be great!" He asked me for directions, then drove out to the store and bought me a $50 gift card, which he's already given me. It's not a lot of cash, but since we usually don't buy each other gifts that often, the thought is far more important to me (since within a month I usually can easily spend $50 there anyway, LOL!)
I thought my dh was getting me a sewing machine for Christmas (as the package was very large and heavy and he told me he picked it up when he went to get me sewing machine oil).
Well, did I get the shock of my life when I began unwrapping and it was a tiny little bag with a "circle of love" diamond pendant and white gold chain. I was totally surprised (and relieved it wasn't a sewing machine, after all, because I already have one that works just fine).
What a dear man....I guess I can't call him Scrooge anymore....he has redeemed himself this year!

Reason: forgot something
I'm a newbie at all this, just went to my first SU workshop last summer, started a SU club in September and have been IN LOVE with cardmaking and made tons of stuff for Christmas presents. My DH at first was grumbling about all the spending, until he saw all the cool stuff I made for our friends and family for Christmas. Then he actually (blew me away, he grew up on a farm and is NOT a shopper) called my SU demonstrator and ordered me something for Christmas! Then my MIL gave me a gift card to Michael's, too! I'm so excited I can get my Cuttlebug, and can't wait to open my SU present and see what my demo suggested!!! I told her I wanted the pewter hardware at the top of my wish list, but he made a comment about punches so maybe the scallop circle punch!!!
I haven't had so much excitement about a hobby as I have since I found SU, and most importantly this website. If it wasn't for this site and all of you, I'd be staring at blank cardstock and some blocks of wood wondering what the heck I could possibly put together. Because of you I have all kinds of talents and idea's now! You all have put a skip in my step! thank you very much and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF YOU!!!
Hugs,
Judy

I ordered my markers last night, but I didn't get the Copics. "What!", you scream? Calm down, I have my reasons...let me explain. DH had no idea what markers I wanted, right? He just knew that they cost around 75 bucks. So, anyway, I go to order them and find that I can get a 24 marker set of Prismacolors at Jerry's Artarama for 37 and some change. "Hmmm...," I says to myself, "I have some Prismas now and I really like them. I never really liked my water-based brush markers. How can I be sure I'll like the brush tip on the Copics? They cost twice as much, and I'll be sooo disappointed if I don't like them." So here's what I did: I got the Prismas, and a set of 48 Lyra Watercolor crayons, AND a free gift for ordering over $75. The free gift looks cool...a set of 18 tubes of some kind of pearlescent paint, watercolor I think, but who cares what they are...they're free. So now DH is so happy that he got MORE than I wanted and he's very proud that I'm such a saavy little shopper! Tee Hee!

This just reminded me...a friend of mine asked her husband for a Cuttlebug for her birthday and he got her a Cricut. He said, "I knew it was a bug of some kind!" We got a good laugh from it and she absolutely loves her Cricut.

That's my kinda shopping! I once cut out a cartoon for a friend. A woman is showing a necklace to her husband and the caption says "Look what you bought me for my birthday!" DH and I will be looking for a post-Christmas jewelry bargain tomorrow. I can wait :p

HAHA! ok that's funnier, Patra, because I can totally relate. My friends and husband would look at me funny when I would talk to them about the Cricut and Cuttlebug. The have a hard time remembering which one is which.

oh no :( To me the thought counts to a certain extent...some people just dont put any thought into it! I'm sure your husband meant well but next time start dropping hints!
No new craft stuff here, but that's ok, what he did get me was better than anything crafty lol
Under my tree I found a little stuffed eyore holding a "mini 2468 box with flap" (that he made himself!!)..and inside was a heart shaped garnet pendant with a small diamond. As I took it out he told me that he's giving me hisheart forever...again..(garnet is HIS birthstone)
Isn't he sweet???

That is so adorable!! What a sweetheart!! I did get rubber boots for christmas from mine(see post above if confused:-D), but I also got two really good gift cards, not for any craft stores, but others that I like. I also got the cutest 3ftx6ft wood painted decoration for my yard with three reindeer holding a sign that says we wish you a merry christmas!! The one on the end has buck teeth and he is adorable!! I do think it is the thought that counts though. They are really nice rubber boots, camoflaged and all, warm, now I just have to find a reason to wear them!! Merry Christmas to you all, hope you got what you wanted and that you got to spend time with your families!!
My husband and I don't usually exchange gifts. We typically buy what we want (well, not EVERYTHING we want*) so, we just buy for others around the holidays. So, this morning, when I was cleaning up boxes and paper from our daughter's visit last night, I find a gift bag... I'm wondering, "where did this come from?" and I look inside... (now, mind you, it was 11am, and we'd been up for hours) ... and inside is a brand new iPod. It took me a minute to figure it out - I've been coveting one for ages - and my DH is just sitting there grinning... he's a keeper!
