Who's a reject? Let's be honest!
Ok, so my title is negative sounding but I wanted to grab your attention!;)
Anyway, I have been inspired by a blog post on Cammies blog a couple weeks ago. You see, she was wondering if she should list her successes or if she should also keep a list of her 'rejects or failures'. Im pretty "new" to the online community and so my list is pretty small. But I am thinking of keeping score on my blog of my hits and misses.
There's also been a few threads on here lately about DT and who's on them or who wants to be on them. I thought if there was an open and public thread about who HASNT gotten on them I thought it might be inspiring to everybody. Since we've all had rejection but most of us dont talk about it.
So, here are the rules of the thread.
1) List your rejections for publications or DT calls or any other type of submission that was based on your work in crafting/designing.
2) Please no trash talk or bad mouthing the company, magazine, etc that didnt hire or publish you.
3) If you havent heard from them yet then it doesnt count, only list the definate "No's". If you find out that you are a definate 'reject' then you can come back and update the list.
4) If you dont have any rejections please do not leave a comment saying so. This is to share what we have NOT done. There is already another thread on here to list your celebrations.
***Please know that I am saying "reject" without any negativity. It is just a term that we all know for SURE what it means, your submission was rejected or your application was rejected****
Ok.......so I'll go first. My list is small because I only apply to places that I really like or feel something for. I have 2 up in the air so I may be able to come back and update within the next few weeks!
REJECTIONS:
1) All that scraps DT-first call
2) All that scraps DT- second call
3) MFT guest designer ATC challenge (although it was an honorable mention)

Oh my gosh...my list would be longer than could probably be held on here! I do list on my blog (in my entries) when i submit and do not get picked up....because it DOES help everyone to see that everyone experiences these things.
I am sure that even the superstars have had their fair share of rejections along the way....what makes them superstars is that they keep trying until they GET IT RIGHT!
That is what I do. And I share my painful process along the way on my blog!!! lol!
Neat thread...

Thanks for the idea and the inspiration!

You are too funny Elizebeth! And I hope you keep playing so you can remove at least one *rejection* from the list!

*We* don't get rejected by men; they just realize how much better we are than them and try to bow out with some dignity.
Back to our regularly scheduled *rejection* thread...;)

I've only been rejected once, but that wasn't for a DT. I submitted cards to SU in hopes of winning one of the monthly contests for demos or at least getting on Stampers' Showcase. I didn't happen and it won't show up because they're retired now. Anyway, I haven't submitted anything to SU since and I haven't tried for any publications or design teams. I'm not real big on rejection. I prefer just to keep it fun. ;)

I always get excited when I see peoples names in SU that I know. And seeing your creations it's a wonder why you didnt get picked. You really make amazing samples for us every week with the LS challenge. And your cards for fun are lovely and inspiring.
Thanks for sharing!

Maybe about 8 months ago I submitted a line drawing to DRS Designs. They said it was cute, but not what they were looking for at the moment.

Then a week or so later I heard the news that you ARE! Way to go, they are beautiful!

*grin* No, you're not a thread killer; I think the ever-nearing Christmas day has got me (and lots of others probably) busier than usual.
Thank for all the kind comments about me making stamps! Much of the credit goes to Flourishes actually. They tell me what images they want and I draw them. It is all their vision; I just help realise it.
I also agree that Markie's Mom's cards are really awesome. I have her gallery bookmarked!
