Default Memberlist Suggestion

I had to look for a username the other day. Is there any possible way to search for them easier than is currently available. She was on page 193, which means that if I started at 1 I had to hit next almost 200 times to get to that area and if I started from 293 (which was the end of the line when I did it) I had to hit previous almost 100 times to get to her name. Anyway, is there a way to list, or can I suggest, usernames not just by page numbers and such but have a search feature by letters too. Does this make sense? Anyway, just a suggestion if it's not available now to do it that way. Thanks.

Laura
If you click on the forums button up top and scroll all the way down it lists all member id's in alpha order. I think that's what you are talking about.

I have thought of that too. Maybe have a letter list so we can just click on a letter to at least get to that part of the alphabet better. I am sure with all that Daven has to do that this is on the bottom of the list but it would make searching for a member so much easier.

Yes you can have them list in alpha order, however, when you are looking fora name with the letter N you can't just click on the letter N to get to those names only, you start at either the numbers or the letter Z and you have to click on each page until you get to the letter N. Does that make sense?

hi, Laura,
If you click on forums, as Felicia suggested, you'll see a listing of all of those who have visted splitcoast today. They are listed in alpha order. You can then click on the user name, to send a pm, email, etc.

As far as searching for a specific member. . . . do tell what you are searching *for* - if it is to send a pm and you are unsure of the user name, you can do the lookup dealie in the pm area, and find the name there.

You guys are looking for a way to go direct to list by clicking a letter, etc. like the gallery, right? Maybe that will be updated when Daven does the switcheroo on the forum software eventually.

Hang tight. . . . and hope this helps!

Jenn -
Thanks for the info about clicking on the page listing who has visited the site today. That helps a lot!

Thanks Jenn for the tip. If that is what Felicia meant, I misunderstood it. But that will work. As to the suggestion itself, yes, to be able to click on a letter itself like the gallery is what I am talking about. Maybe Daven can get that going at some point in all his heavy work on the site.
