I was playing around after viewing the new catalog. On page 106 & 166, there are cards with a tag in a pocket that has a square punched into it....
I decided to make a template so I can make these.
With pockets being all the rage.... I think these are pretty cool! Let me know if you like them!
Supplies needed:
Paper Trimmer
Square Punch
4.5" x 3.5" piece color A
1.75" x 3" piece color B
1/2" circle punch
Eyelet
Ribbon
Take the piece A and score it at 3.25" and 1.25" (holding cardstock horizontally)
Vertically score at .5"
Snip diagonally at adjoining score lines. (see images below)
Use square punch to punch square in center panel. On opposite end use circle punch to create notch.
Fold and adhere.
Decorate piece B.
I used the circle punch to make a reinforcer and an eyelet and ribbon. You could snip ends off to make it taggy or corner round or whatever floats your boat
MamaK, you are too much!! Thank you for posting these how-to's. The first thing I said when I saw your card was, "COOL!! I WONDER HOW SHE DID THAT!!" So thank you for sharing, and what a neat card for your hubby!! Hmm,, If I make one for my DH, do you think it'll get me some new catalog spending money??
I noticed those same samples when I was looking through the catty. I was wondering how to do them. Thanks! BTW love your avatar!

Great job MamaK! I know your way is cheaper but did ya'll notice SU! has a whole kaboodle of pockets die-cut for us in their new Pockets and Pieces kits on page 213? There are also mini file folders, tickets and tons of new fun shaped tags for those of us who are a bit cutting and measuring challenged. Love it when SU! shows its up on the new trends!!
Kimberly you are the best, I love these and now I can make them even before I order them. On Friday I can have one already done so they can order them, TSF! ;)
Cool idea. When am I coming over to practice with you and Em? Oh, and you all are total dorks in your catty pics! As in "ooooooh, I can get mail!" Ha! JK

Wow! THanks for the instructions ...saves trying to figure it out. I'm so glad that someone used your idea as I missed your original post last week while I was in the hospital with Joshua.
Awesome instructions, MamaK! I was playing around and thought it would be neat to stamp something inside the pocket behind the insert so I modified the scoring measurements to eliminate the seam that shows through the punched hole!
Take the piece A and score it at 3 7/8" and 1 7/8" (holding cardstock horizontally)
Vertically score at .5"
EVERYTHING ELSE IS EXACTLY THE SAME! I put a thumbnail of the card below. Here is a link to my card where you can see the inside of the pocket when the tag is pulled out! Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi mooshie_stamps! I put a thumbnail above as well as posted a link to the card I made using the paper piecing punch! This is the only one I have done but plan on doing more! MamaK inspired me! As usual! Now, I just need to get a square punch! The CM punches do not work for these PeekABoo pockets! HTH!
