Default I need your honest opinion

Hi everyone! I am really looking for some honest opinions! I don't trust my dh :-)

I have made these ornaments. I am looking to find out:

would you buy these at a craft sale if you saw them?? If yes, why? If no, why not?

I am looking for some kind but honest opinions here!! Don't be afraid to say no as long as you can help me understand why. That is what I am really looking for!!

Star Ornaments

I appreciate your time in answering my questions!! Thanks.

I would need to know the price before I could give a concrete answer.

And, can they be personalized? For example, if I wanted to give them as keepsakes, can they be dated, or a name or both be put on them? Could you do that for me on site, or would I have to do it later?

They are well done and tasteful and lovely.

I might buy them depending upon the price. Sadly, so many things are mass produced overseas that the competition to get back the cost of your supplies and time is a killer.

Also, are they lightweight or heavy? I'm not wild about ornaments that are on the heavy side.

I would certainly look at them - depending on the price, I would purchase them, too. They are very pretty.

I wouldnt buy them simply because I could make them. If I could make the same thing that someone is selling and it wouldnt take me a long time then I dont buy it.

Maybe a crafty site isnt the best place to ask since we are all inclined to make our own stuff.

Their nice looking, not really my style. But I can see how they would appeal to others.

And knowing the price would be a big plus.

Some great comments. Things I had not thought of. These ornaments are made out of paper so they would be very light weight. Providing the option to have them personalized would be a great idea if I were going to actually sell them!! I realize that everyone here could make their own, and probably much nicer.... :-)

I am just trying to clarify my own perception -- I ususally figure my stuff is really crappy and that no one would ever want to buy it. My dh and friends all say "no, your stuff is nice" but -- they have to say that -- they are my friends and dh!! So I just wanted to get an idea from strangers who would be honest and knew what they were talking about!!

thanks

Oh my! Please dont think I think it's crappy.....no at all! Im sure if I wasnt a crafty person I would ooh and aah over it!

That's really cool that it's made out of paper, it looks like it may have been wood.

I think that they are beautiful, but I wouldn't buy them because I like to have my tree all coordinated and all my ornaments are red, green and silver. If you had one in those colors, I would though. Maybe you can offer to personalize them with the colors that the customer picks. I know some people have blue themes even purple, so I guess it would really depend!

These ornaments are beautiful. I love everything about them. I do like someone's suggestion that you could do custom orders for these in different colors. But, I would definately buy these!

l also thought they were made of wood. I like star ornaments and these are really nice. I would definitely consider buying ornaments like these.

The only thing I'm not as keen on is the word "believe". Don't ask me why? But every time I see it, I'm asking myself "believe what?"

But that's just me.

I thought the first one was made out of wood, imagine that! Cool! Would I purchase? Hmmmm, well since you asked...

If the word "Believe" was taken off, different colors, could be personalized and the price is right, then YES.

But getter to the deeper issue of affirmation, does it really matter if anyone else likes what you do? I say, NO! When you make something, do it to the very BEST of your God given ability, then you are glorifying Him and like the rest of us matter?

I wouldn't buy either but not because of quality or style or anything...They're very nice. But I know I could make that.
I tend to buy crafty things that would take forever to make or I don't have the supplies to recreate. I especially like crafts I really can't do, like beading.

But I do think people would buy them...depending on the price.

I'm a crafty person and I would buy them. I think they are really great the way they are. I too thought they were wood! I always buy new ornaments every year. Our tree's theme is that there isn't a theme so I always look for new and unique ornaments. I really like them. Great job!

I think they are lovely! I would consider buying, but it would depend on the price as I tend to be on the cheap side (uh...frugal...that is). Really nice work though!

I would buy them depending on the price. If they were too costly I would rather try to make them myself. They are pretty, though.

my concern, being a crafter and not having made them myself; would the paper deteriate, or is it acid free-that would make me reconsider, and not want to take the chance. usually a crafted item is most meaningful to you or someone close to you.

I like them. I collect stars and I like the word 'believe' at Christmas time.
Depending on the size and price, I would buy 3 - 6.
Very nicely done Wiggy.

They are really nice but I wouldn't buy them because I have too many ornaments as it is right now. I am trying to buy only one or two a year and the ones I buy have to "represent" something important to our family during the past year.

Good luck!

I think I would buy them. I read that you made them from paper not wood. Are they mounted on something like Chipboard, just so they have some sturdiness to them? Also, if you make more - add glitter! I like ornaments that reflect the lights on the tree.

I actually thought they were made of clay at first. I think they are just lovely. You did a great job and should be proud of your work.

I like them and also thought they were made of wood. I would definitely consider them depending on the price and what I would do with them once I got them (give as gifts, keep for myself, or buy to figure out how to make my own in a way that was more me).
Keep up the good work! They are definitely NOT crap!! I love them!!
