Wow. That is some long list. A lot more things on it than I expected. Does this mean that they fill in with that many new things?

I"m surprised at some things (kids pads, uninked spectrum and white wheel stuff).
I'm not surprised at others, and hoped some would go! LOL!

I"m curious about them too. I don't sell very many albums tho, so it's not a big loss for me. Perhaps it's just new colours coming out??

That's the one thing I WASN'T surprised about. SU tends to run "specials" on things they are phasing out. Look at the last special we had. Buy 3 get one free designer papers....
In the past it was stamp sets... spend a certain amount and get up to 6 sets at a discount type things. 99% of the time those sets retired that were discounted.
Besides, if you look at the papers that are going, most of them are at least "seasonal" looking if not a holiday paper anyway.
So it only makes sense that they are going. In keeping with the "seasons" of the catalog, they wouldn't want Halloween and Christmas paper in the Spring/Summer collection, KWIM?

I have two and can honestly say I never use them. I use my cutter instead.
Maybe they are redesigning it? I always had trouble with it "slipping" when trying to cut....

Really?! I use my PL on *every single card and LO* I make. I'm Type A and a big mat freak. I honestly would be sooo lost without it!
My guess is they're going to redesign it. The company that makes the PL tool has since come out with a new version - it now comes with
three tools instead of just the two (which means 10 different matting options instead of the current eight) and a right angle tool, or "square".
Don't quote me on this, LOL... it's simply a guess. I just cannot fathom them retiring this item completely. It's so useful! Maybe I can't understand it because I personally love it so much that I will probably be burried with my PL, but it puzzles me nonetheless.

There are several wheels that are not in the Fall/Winter catalog. Where could I go to see those wheels? Like Bloomin and Butterflies & Blossoms

so what's up with retiring part of the eyelet collection but not all of them? packing them in different colors?
and why retire the vellum and shimmery white envelopes?

Brendamontanez - likely those wheels are the ones that went on the dormant list when the current catty came out. Try the dormant list section of the SU! site.

I never put two and two together but now will look at the 'specials' differently. Thanks for the insight!

I've been with SU for three years now, and noticed the trend just recently. But when I went back, sure enough, there it was... same with the sets/wheels promotion. Most of those retired within a couple months of the promo.
