Hide her paper cutter! Seriously. I haven't been able to find it for about a week now. I'm going nuts. I'm considering buying a new one, but I KNOW it's around here somewhere. I've looked everywhere! Even in crazy spots like my son's UNDERWEAR drawer, the sandbox outside, the garage, the cupboard with the breadmaker...wait! I have a breadmaker?!
I started wondering if DH hid it from me just to be cruel, but I realized that as a non-paper crafter, he doesn't even realize the importance of the paper cutter, and if he were so crazy as to attempt to hide something from me as a joke, he'd probably pick a few inkpads, not realizing that I have many, many other choices! ;)
How do I NOT have a back up paper cutter?! I have duplicates of almost every other tool I'd ever need!
To top it off, I have new rubber arriving at my house today from 2 different companies!!!
I'm losing it, I tell ya! If I don't find it soon, I'm going to have to pick up another, or I might even have to...
(gulp!)
send out store bought Christmas cards and thank you's! Oh, the cruelty!!
Did you look in your car? You never know if you took it somewhere. I thought you were going to say that slowly your DH is taking things and holding them for ransom - wait maybe you will get a ransom note soon.

Oh yeah, I checked under the beds. And I'm finding all kinds of stuff, just not the paper cutter!
I found that Borders gift card I got for Christmas in 2005, which I doubt has anything on it anymore- gotta call on that. I found the acrylic block I wanted a few weeks ago when I was trying to use my new Papertrey stamps. I found the stamped Voila images I thought I'd sent to someone already. I found the Sweet of You stamp set I SWEAR I traded to someone already. Did anyone trade with me and never receive this set? Anyone? ;)

If so, silly him! Doesn't he know I'd just buy more?! ;)
I hope it turns up....I hate it when I am in the middle of something and can't find my adhesive, or my scissors etc....drives me nuts....sad to say, I have nobody around who could hide it....I am just crazed stamper.
did you check your dryer? I mean, that's were all my socks go, why not the paper cutter?
Is it buried under a pile of wrapping paper? Designer paper? Did your hubby take it and use it in the garage? (hose cutter maybe?)... Did you look in the obscure drawer of your craft room that you never open/go into? Try the floor? Could a pet have dragged it off somewhere? Kids toybox, maybe?
this thread is cracking me up. the last time I lost my paper cutter, it turned out that I had put it horizontally "on top" of the trash can and yes, my husband assumed it was trash. So maybe it is gone, baby, gone!

Hey, my paper cutter runs away some too. It likes to curl up in the big sheets of paper on my crafting desk. You would think something that big could not hide, but it does. In fact, ever since I got mu cuttle bug, it is hiding more. I think it is a afraid of the bug
OK, didn't have time to read all the posts, but I had to laugh.
There's this crazy little store by my mom's that has all this stuff (from scrapbooking to toys to homegoods, etc.) at really great bargains, and I just bought myself a 12 in. Fiskars rotary paper cutter for $5!!!
Why? So, I can have one upstairs and one downstairs and so I'm not always searching for my one lone cutter.
Once my friends saw it they are all upset that they didn't buy an extra one for themselves
So, sweetie, go buy yourself a new one!!!!

BTW, while you're looking, can you see if you can find my WHOLE pack of 8 1/2 X 11 purely pomegranate cardstock that has been missing for a whole month.
You know, I'll find it right when the colors retire :(

My cutter ended up disapearring a while ago. I DID end up getting a new one. Then one day I went to the garage to talk to DH and THERE IT WAS!! Right on the work bench. DH "borrowed" it and then for got to tell me when I was complaining that it disappeared!!!
Go ahead and get a new one - just one that's different from your missing one. Then when you find the missing one you won't need to feel like you wasted money. I like different cutters for different reasons - have 5 - shhhhh! I have 2 that I use regularly but have had occasions to pull my older ones out. The two I use the most are the basic Fiskars - love my scoring blade! And the SU! tabletop cutter - and I've always hated guillotine cutters until this one!
This is too funny - right now I can't find the package of CM baby girl stickers I promised to mail to someone about three months ago - putting together an elf pkg and darned if the stickers are nowhere to be found - have been moving them around to avoid burying them and now they are truly out of sight!!! Let us know when you find your cutter - I live alone and occasionally can't find something that the cats have moved or batted around but my four paper cutters are right here beside me....have CM personal trimmer, straight trimmer, wavy trimmer, and a Fiskars with the scoring blade...
Oh my. This is kind of funny . . . but it's always funny when it's someone else. I have a purple cow cutter. Kind of hard to lose that! Hope you find yours real soon!

the suspense is KILLING me....did it show up? did she break down and buy another? did she give up the craft altogether and take up woodworking??? HOw long must we wait, I ask you! How long.....
no wonder you are "up the wall".....
isn't this item a bit big "to lose"?
how funny i have "lost" christmas gift only to be found when we moved! (dh was the USMC). MAYBE THE ANSWER IS TO MOVE- that way you will everything, even things you don't know you are currently missing.
keep us updated!

Kinda, I guess. It's the small Fiskars one though. A larger table top kind would be a little harder to misplace.
I guess I'll be shopping for a new one today!

I had this same problem once when my craft room was upstairs....hubby borrowed it for his computer room and never gave it back. I ended up buying a new one and let him keep the stolen one.
This is why I like having my computer room downstairs. No one ever goes down there but me, so I don't have to worry about things walking off.

I had the same problem last month and just decided that I probably left it in a bag or something and DH pitched it. So, I just went out and got another one. Lo and behold....last week when hubby was getting out the Xmas decorations, I find a bag with the paper cutter in it. Now, I just used the thing a day or two before it turned up missing....How did it make it's way to the Xmas junk? I can't even move the big book case in front of the little nook where we store the Xmas stuff. Gremlins, I bet.
I'm sure you've bought one by now, but try checking the kids closets, and board game boxes. Then when I think the kids have taken something, I crawl around the house on all fours ( at their level) and usually I will find it. Although we haven't found my 1st graders reading group book. My DH decided to just go online and buy another one. The book cost $8, but then paid $14 to have it shipped 2 day express, this is outrageous, considering they'll be done using this particular book in 1 1/2 weeks. Unfortunetely unlike most DH's, mine likes to spend $$, just not on stamping and craft stuff! He thinks it's dumb and a waste of time, Can you believe his audasity!!!!!! (not sure how to spell that one??) Anyhow, hope you find it eventually.
I think we should start a thread of stamping/craft items we've lost and never found. I actually will do that now!!

Seriously one of the funniest (and true) posts I've ever read! I totally understand. I do hope that you don't find it sitting on your desk in the most OBVIOUS place. That'd be a certain road to insanity.
As soon as you buy one it will turn up!!! I love my making memories one and I paid full price but now JoAnns, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby have them so use a coupon and enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
