OK Stampers, fess up...
...do you keep your stamping space immaculately clean and organized or are you like me and by the time you create a magnificent card it looks like a bomb went off?

Actually, my craft room is cleaner than some rooms in my house..LOL!
Not all the time, but I try to clean up after stamping. Unless I'm working on some projects and I need to leave everything out.

What is clean again? I think someone needs to remind me.
We have company coming this weekend so I am frantically trying to clean the house and this crazy craft room.

Right now my stamping room is clean & organized. However, I have a scrapbook club on Saturday morning & a stamping party on Sunday afternoon so by Sunday night it will look like a bomb went off. And then on Monday morning I'll start all over again getting it straightened & organized, lol!

It may not be clean but it is organized. The dh called me this evening to find something in there (I'm in the hospital) since my mil is at the house helping and she wanted to sew (scrap room is also the sewing room) and I was able to direct him to exactly what he needed (a miracle in and of itself, like he knew what the 1/4" sewing foot looked like).

Another bomb gone off...
The more projects I have going on, the harder it is to tell that there's actually carpet on the floor in there.
I think it's part of the creative side of us--the same side that's creative is MESSY, too!

I've never been able to make the simplest thing without having a HUGE mess all over my kitchen table and counters with stuff strewn all over.
I have accepted that my messiness is a natural part of papercrafting and beyond my control. Life is just easier that way! I dread the cleaning up afterward part :(, but it has to be done eventually.

Mine is an absolute disaster! I have about an 8inch by 8inch area clear on my table to stamp in.....the rest of the 5 foot long table is covered with stuff!
If I could just stop buying and bringing new stuff into my stamping room, it could possibly be neat and tidy but at this rate I ran out of space weeks ago:rolleyes:

I can't even see the top of my desk right now! But I do try to clean up right after finishing every project I'm working on. I can't start something new until everything is back in it's place. Then I take it all out again.

I think that I am going to put up another folding table just so I can have a work surface. Wonder how long this space will stay clean? LOL!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Bombs away in my craft room! Most of my stuff has it's 'place' - BUT there's still kind of a stream-of-consciousness mess to it!
My MOTHER will be visiting at the end of the month, if I don't get it organized, SHE will & then I won't be able to find anything.
I do much better at finding stuff when it's a bit messy. :-)

OMG! I feel your pain. My mom wants to know when she is coming over to clean. Excuse me?! My sister and I both yelled MOM NO at the same time. LOL. Good luck with that. My mom lives 10 minutes away I keep fearing she will appear at my door. She's a tad ocd so she doesn't like the fact that my house is a wreck.

I think we have the same mother! Mine lives several states away - but I know if she lived closer she'd be at my house organizing, throwing things away & arranging the furniture the way she likes it.
Sometimes I just let her do what she wants, I am laid back enough with some stuff it doesn't bother me.

Oh there are some things in my house she is just itching to either get rid of or organize & I won't let her. It's like my little form of torture - ha ha. Just kidding. She's a great mom - but ya know, she's a mom so she's supposed to drive her only daughter crazy from time to time.
:-) What makes me laugh is when she says "Anne, you have so much stamping stuff", and I say "Go look at YOUR craft room & say that to me again". She makes jewelry, quilts & knits - so she's got NO room to talk about my abundance of craft supplies!

OH now I really think we share the same mom lol. My mom beats me with supplies a thousand times over. But she also used to own her own seamstress shop too.
So we have enough floss, ribbon, fabric, etc. to last us a lifetime.

I tell my mom that she could make a necklace that could go around the world, with all the beads she has!
BTW - your little dog in your avatar is so cute! :-)
Time to go home, it's snowing & I know that means the trains out of the city will be late!

I may have a whole war zone in my space. DH, who is very organized and a neat-monger KNOWS better than to touch anything! I was looking for something the other day and very frustrated, and he asked if he could help. So, he walked around the room with his HANDS BEHIND HIS BACK, LOL!! I gotta laugh at him, because I know he's wanting it picked up, but he has been warned with bodily damage. I don't touch his bass guitar or his coin collection, he doesn't touch my stamp room.

I've been working on archiving my churches pictures and they HAVE to be done before this Saturday. Well, I wasn't able to start until last Tuesday and am in a panic. I have about 500 more pics to do and am ready to scream, so yes it looks like a bomb went off. Normally I'm fairly neat. I just stopped to clean off my space and vacuum so I could scrap a little bit more peacefully. UGH!!!! I need another week! Fortunately, I work well under pressure.

I do a deep clean about every month or two. I really need to do some cleaning though but I just cant right now, too many Christmas projects going on. I feel like if I put it back it will only come right back out, what's the point.
I do put away all my sharp scissors and place my toxic chemicals out of reach every night. My craft room has childproof handles and there are 2 gates in place, but I just do it because I'm overly cautious.

Well, I'll give you a hint...I've switched from making 12x12 layouts to making 4x5 cards, because of lack of enough space on my desk.

Basically, I sucked it up and spent money on storage. Wall Shelves, new desks, a big bookshelf, a rolling wide drawer unit, CTMH boxes for my stamps, blocks, accents, and ribbon, a spice rack for glitter and paint, a couple all my memories totes for basic supplies, a Crop in Style XXL, PSB, and Paper Taker, etc. We needed to redo the office anyway, so most of it came out of money we were saving for that and the Crop In Style and AMM were gifts from my parents and hubby.
It looks great now, and since there is a place for everything. The key is to have a spot for everything. I have come to the point where I know that if I buy something, I must have storage for it, or it will be everywhere and be damaged or lost.

I'm a freaky crafter compared to the rest of you. I can't even allow for a mess while I am working, let alone when I'm done. Everything must go in its place as soon as I'm done with it!
