Sketch challenge 28
REMINDER: Please put SC28 in the keywords box when you upload your creation to the gallery! Anyone and everyone is welcome to partcipate and this is a great way to pass the time while waiting for all your goodies from the new catty ;)
Master Thread
This sketch is a little different. I loved JanTink's card using spring garden and I especially liked the torn section tied together with ribbon, so that is our "sketch' this week
Also, I will be out of town for the next 9 days so Asela has graciously agreed to post next week's sketch challenge! I can't wait to see what she chooses!
Gallery Submissions

-When the black surround screen appears click only on the layout and a white screen with the layout should appear.
-Right click and click on print from the pop up box or hold down your shift key and P key at the same time.
-Now you're ready to choose print and it should print to actual size of the card depending on your computer.

Here's mine. I turned the sketch sideways.
*** I need suggestions*** This card is for a new female teacher coming to our middle school. I need to make one for a male teacher, too. What can I do differently for him?

What a great idea!!! We have a lot of new teachers starting this year at my elementary. I think I will make some stamped pens, notepads and a card to welcome them:-)

I've only been stampin since January and have been a little intimidated by the idea of scrapbook pages (though I have bought scrapbooks and am ready anytime I get up the nerve!), so I took the opportunity to try a 6X6 page. Here it is with a picture from Easter of 2003!
Thanks for helping me overcome my misplaced fear! Who knows, maybe I'll tackle a 12 X 12 soon!

I combined it with this week's color challenge. Not fond of these colors but did like how it turned out, I guess LOL!

Wooooo hoooooooo,,, I made it,,,, I got the card done the day the challenge was posted.. I had sorta fallen off the wagon for a while...
This card was inspired by jacksonbelle. Her card was wonderful and it pushed me to be more creative and think through my card.
Thank you jacksonbelle.

Card Sketch Challenge # 28
Here's my first submission for a challenge. It started as last weeks challenge but needed something else! This challenge was the thing it needed. Thanks ladies for getting my creative juices flowing with all of your great ideas and inspiration in the gallery!

Just use earth elements versions of the same colors--maybe some antiquing/aging on the background.

Thank goodness for Andreasophie! I've been feeling really uninspired this week (burnt out after VSN?) and this sketch challenge finally got me going. I really like the way this came out - it combines SC28 with CC17 ;-)

My First SC submission
Like Tashers, I think I missed the uploading boat for the evening, but here's a link to my submission for this challenge.
This is my first sketch challenge, and it was very fun. I'm not sure how flexible the rules are on these challenges, but I made an attempt to push the boundaries a bit, so please be kind. First, I didn't use ribbon to connect the torn pieces, and second, I used a retired set. Are those permissable?
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Thanks,
Brian

I know this is off-topic, but can someone explain the little titles we have under our names. This morning, I was a "Cardstock Collector," but all of a sudden, I am a "Glitter Queen." As a male (and I'm not really complaining because I know there are only a few of us on here), I much prefer the previous title.

Now that I've seen the example, I'm glad I didn't look at it before (I would have given up!) I flip floped the challenge and used "whiskers" instead of bows or ribbon.
These are fun!

Yeah, I think I would too! But like Jen said, hurry up and post. And besides that I don't think I even look at those titles, probably most people don't.
By the way, checked out your card - I loved the bandaides!! Very cool idea!

Thanks to your helpful responses on how to move away from being a "Glitter Queen". I guess it's not so bad because this is such an exclusive group (not like I have to wear a t-shirt around town with that on it, right?) Now, I begin my quest of posting like a madman so that I can apparently change my title from "Glitter Queen" to anything else. Can't wait to see what I become next...

Your next title of honor will be that of "Complusive Stamper." That won't be too bad for you, will it? Here's a link to the thread which explains it all:

My MIL is leaving on vacation this weekend, so this was the perfect sketch to use to create a card to say "Have Fun!" (I'll be meeting her at the beach next week!!!!)
