Default check it out... project on Carol Duvall today!

OMG! they made the coolest project today on the Carol Duvall show (DIY channel). there was a lady on ther showing how to make folded paper landshades . the didn't stamp them on the show, but there were stamped samples on there and they were so neat!

Get the directions and more info here: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows_...502393,00.html

of ocurse, i am in the process of hunting for new lamps for my living room (i just got my new LR set.. woo hoo!) so i thought it was spectacular idea! you can make them larger or smaller than the directions on the site. she also made a smaller one to use as a candle shade.

as soon as i make one i will get a picture posted.

They were very COOL! I made sure to record it. I made something like it last year for a friend of mine who just bought their first house. I got the instructions from this huge origami book that I have. And, instead of using a lamp base I soldered a wire frame so that a votive holder and votive could be used. My friends were very impressed. ;)

You mentioned that you were hunting for new lamps. Well, I was at Target the other night and their entire stock of lamp bases all different sizes were on clearance even their brushed silver ones, which I love. I’m sure they’ve marked them down on their web site as well.

I can hardly wait to see your lampshade. Keep me posted…

I know here in Sacramento you can go to any art supply store and find paper of all sizes. If you have a problem locating paper that size let me know.

Here's a link to the store I usually go too in town.
