Default When giving cards as a gift, do you ...

put any sentiments inside or leave them blank? I'm giving cards to my mother and possibly my mil and I want to know if I should print/stamp sentiments inside or leave them blank. Most of the cards are happy birthday cards.

Just wondering what everyone else does. Thanks for your opinions!

I do a mixture of both. As gifts I make a assortment of a dozen cards, six different cards. Some I stamp a sentiment, some I leave blank. I found some plain white lingerie boxes at the Dollartree, line with pretty tissue paper, place cards in, then found some pretty writing pens to go along with the card box. I found some cute address books marked down last year, can stick one of those in the box. I had a request for a box from a co worker, now I have even more requests, so my weekend is going to be in my craft room.

But what better place to be.

Depends upon what type of card it is. The only cards I leave blank are note cards, or thank you cards. Birthday, Xmas,Thanksgiving, sympathy, along with mothers & fathers day would all have a "saying" on the inside. People usually write a few personal words on those types of cards anyway, well at least on the cards I receive they do.

I do both also...my relatives aren't shy about letting me know they would like some birthday cards or thank you's to send out. Another idea is to stamp an assortment of greetings on white paper, cut them out, and include them so that the person can choose their own greeting to match the occasion. They can glue or double stick tape them on as needed. In this case I would make the cards more mulit purpose looking and not obvious birthday or mother's day,etc related...I'm sure they will love whatever you give them...anything hand made is always treasured.
