I think mono adhesive (or snail ad.) works the best!

I've found phototape works the best. Never comes apart!

I agree.... I use to use glue stick, and a friend of mine told me she had to glue it back together when she received it. That upset me

Now I use mono adhesive only

i like the mono adhesive also, just make sure you get the permanent, because the removable doesn't hold for very long. i also found that when you use a glue stick, when it dries, your card gets really stiff.

mono is great! although, the temporary adhesive, which I thought was useless, is great as a masking adhesive! Photo tabs, for me, are the best to use on textured cardstock.

I'm really having a hard time getting my monoadhesive to stick too! I bought it through Viking. Is anyone else having this problem? I tried sticking some tags to the CS, they had hemp threaded through the holes, and one of them keeps coming unstuck! I have stuck a ton of mono to it, and finallly used a dot of CE.

Dawn g, did you accidently get the one that is not permanent? It sounds like that might be the problem.

Dawn,

Yes, I, too have been having some trouble with the mono staying stuck. Pulled some cards out that I had made a few weeks ago, and the layers were slipping. I bought my refills from Viking, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. It makes me a little nervous now. I am in the process of making my niece's wedding invitations and had wanted to use mono because it is fast, but am a little leary of it now. What I've found really sticks well is Scotch double-sided tape.

Default ADHESIVE FOR LAYERING CARDSTOCK ONTO CARDSTOCK

I keep a selection of adhesives at hand. Have almost stopped using glue sticks for the same reasons everyone's mentioned. Depending on texture of the CS, I use: permanent mono (never had a problem), Scotch double sided tape (excellent), rubber cement (especially for corrugated papers), glue dots, and Elmers' has something called a Memory Book Glue Pen (has a dual applicators & I've had no problems). Have fun!

I often use glue sticks when assembling presentation materials for my classes, and I've found that certain brands do not stay stuck. I swear by UHU-brand glue sticks -- even in Savannah's notorious humidity, I've never had anything come apart! The colored ones are better than the clear ones, IMO, because you can see exactly where you put the glue, and it will dry clear!

Also, you need to make sure you glue your paper down before it has a chance to dry, because it has a less permanent bond once it's had a chance to get a bit tacky.

I wonder if there's been a "bad batch" of permanent mono? I had switched to using mono and I thought it was working well until I made a batch of swap cards & in the morning they were all coming apart. I've been a little of reluctant to use it since then....
I've gone back to glue sticks... but they're not working much better for me. Lately I've resorted to glue & then placing the card(s) under a heavy object overnight. So far that seems to be the best yet... except that I seem to get glue *everywhere*....

Default mono adhesives

Thought I would put in my 2 cents worth. I have used the mono adhesives quite a bit and they have worked well but I hate how expensive they are and they sometimes develop those "boogers" of excess tape. I find they don't always come out completely. I have started using a new permanent tape called Easy Stick and it comes in a red dispenser with a yellow duck on it. Joannes sells them in a 4 pack for 12.99. I wait until I have a coupon and they end up costing me about 2.00 a piece. They also seem to work better and all the tape dispenses without getting all sticky. They are in the scrapbooking section by the other tapes. HTH--Tracy

I saw Scotch Double-Stick yesterday at Sam's. I didn't check the price, but it might be worth looking into.

Now, this is definitely not a good way for those who make tons of things, but I use Xyron most of the time. I just try to plan carefully and remember to run my small attachment pieces in underneath my pics or larger pieces.

I have to say that I have never like the mono.

I used the one that came with my demo starter kit and the cards were falling apart. :?

I also host a lot of swaps and many of the cards I receive are falling apart by the time they get to me....only with the mono cards.

I adore the CM tape runner. Or even the hermafix tabs were quite strong.

the easy stick red container tape can also be found in 4 packs at walmart in the office supply section - i think you'll find a better price there. not sure, but i thought it was closer to $8 for 4 pack. of course they don't print 40% off coupons! i especially like it for those long skinny strips of paper. i use a lot of rubber cement for bigger pieces of card stock - do people have problems with that? now i fear my cards are falling apart when they get to my recipient...

Default Mono Adhesive

I have found that the Mono in the new container does not stick as well as the old one. In my gallery I made a Mary Jane Shoe
( total of 60) after making ten and the mono not sticking I resorted to Aleene's tacky glue. Small thin lines and dots. I couldn't afford the candy holders falling apart at the christening for my niece.

I do not know now what to use on my cards and pages? Help!!!!
