Default what cardstock to use?

I am wondering if someone can recommend cardstock. I am wanting to make cards with my computer, basically printing a picture directly to the cardstock and folding in half. I tried Stampin' Up, but for some reason I don't get a crisp picture when printing on their cardstock. I tried both white and the glossy white. I got a great picture with some cardstock I bought at Office Max, but it was not as thick as I would like.

I have learned that you cannot just go by the lb # of the cardstock. A higher # can actually be flimsier.

I'm hoping someone can recommend cardstock they've actually used in this way. I am not wanting to adhere a picture, I need to be able to print it directly onto the cardstock. It could also be another type of paper like photo paper, but then it needs to fold well to make a card and also have a plain white backside (not company name or anything).

I would appreciate your help. Thanks!
Michelle

Papertrey white paper is one cardstock I use for printing digital images and it may be the thickness your looking for.

Epson Ultra Premium Presentation paper (formerly called Enhanced Matte) is awesome for printing photos and it has a matte finish like cardstock. It comes in 8.5 x 11 and other sizes.

I'm not familiar with this. Where do you buy it?

Thanks for the heads up on the HP and Epson papers. Do they not print their names on the backsides like many do?

I appreciate all your responses. Now I have some more papers to try!

Is the Epson paper thick enough to make cards?
Thanks!

Here's the link to Papertrey Stamper's Select White Cardstock. That would be my suggestion.

I just took a look at my paper. It is 51lbs. and I don't think it is thick enough to make cards. Too bad cause they don't print their name on the back side.:(
