(It's 12:35 on Friday morning where I am so I am posting this challenge now. I hope that o.k.)
It's Friday and time for another LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE!! Im your guest hostess for this week! O.k. here we go! Remember what it was like before you had a whole room full of stamping supplies? Let's see what everyone can come up with from this list. Remember that you can use any combination of things on this list, but you cannot use anything not listed below. When you upload your card to the gallery please put LSC18 in the keyword section and post a link to this thread so we can all go look. Everyone is welcome to play -even if you've never done a challenge before...please join us!!!
Inspiration for this challenge:
I had a customer call me this week and she was needing to make a card for a special someone. She is new to stamping and only has a few sets. None of her sets were quite right for what she was wanting to do. She has a couple of cutesy sets -if you will- and then one sayings set. So I helped her create a card using the sayings set. (I didnt take a picture of it or I would post.) Anyhow, so that gave me the idea for this weeks challenge. What if you only had one stamp set. The set only had sayings, sentiments, etc. No images but you needed to make a card.
Supplies:
Stamps:
No image stamps at all for this challenge. You must only us a word stamp. It can be a verse or something as simple as Happy Birthday. The occasion is your choice.
Cardstock: You can choose any 2 coordinating colors and 1 neutral.
Ink: Any 2 colored inks + black and versamark
Accessories: Fibers, Ribbons, EP, heat gun, markers, aquapainter, pastels, brayer, glitter, Pearl-Ex, adhesives of your choice, eyelets & setters, Square and/or circle punch.
PLUS Any regular household item such as bleach, staples, waxpaper, etc. (hint-use some of these things to make your background)
If you can't upload to the gallery you can still play at home. You don't need everything on the list to play. Just use what you have. You are more than welcome to combine this challenge with any of the other challenges going on during the week.

Nice challenge... my mind is already working - I know what Stamp I want to use, now I just have to figure out the rest (oh, and get through the work day so I can get home and really get working!) Hopefully my catalog will be there when I get there today! (Please!!!)
Day 2 - guess what was here when I got home!!! YEAH!
Here's my entry for this challenge... that was fun!
I have a question. Can we use just one stamp or can we use more as long as it's from the same sentiment set? For example: I have All Year Cheer 3 and would like to use the different fonts of "happy" on those stamps using a marker.
Well this was fun! I don't have a ton of stamps, so I run across this a lot. This is what I came up with: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I tried to be much more limited in my supplies than the list, more fun for me that way. My background is a dryer sheet rubbed with Basic Brown classic pad (saw that last night in the forums), then just embossed the sentiment, and added a household button with hemp. Turned out cute! Thanks so much for this challenge!
Well, here is the link to my challenge card. It wasn't quite what I set out to do, but I like the way it turned out. It looks much better in person. I am always doing cards with limited supplies...my family is RICH WITH LOVE, but not much else (LOL) so I buy what I can when I can. I've only been doing t his since December04, so I haven't quite built up a large supply of stamps yet.

Yes you can use any of the stamps in the same sentiment set. The key is to just not use any image stamps. Good idea to mix up the fonts. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

This was a great challenge for me because I need to make 10 more thank you cards for my baby shower. I am not a factory type worker so every card I make is different. This allowed me to create at least one simple and FAST card.
Thanks for the challenge. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

What a great challenge idea. Often I cannot decide on an image to go with a certain phrase. Love all the photos so far. Here is mine... Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
My first attempt I failed miserably on. I had it all done and looked at it and said, "It needs *something*" so I added a flower to it. Here is my failed challenge:
So I'm talking to my dh when we ran to Michael's to get staples (that was our story to the kids and that is what we are sticking to) and he said, "Uh, does it have to be in English?" So this is what we came up with. It might be cheating, but it is a word stamp, sort of:
I don't know if this qualifies. I used red and white paper, blue wallpaper, but three inks (blue, brown, and white pigment). But it was simple, and I liked the way it came out.
What a great week for this challenge since I was away from home and had limited supplies to work with but I got it done. I've enjoyed all the cards I've seen so far. Thanks scrown8301 for making this a fun challenge!
This was the first time I joined in for a challenge. I did not read the instructions carefully enough (missed the part about putting LSC18 into the keywords). So my cards are not showing up in the "LSC18" gallery. Does anyone know how I can move them there?

All you need to go do is select edit post. You should be able to make changes from there. Be sure to post a link to your card in this thread so we can all enjoy your work! Thanks for playing!

Thanks, but I just now tried the Edit Post and that seems to only let me change my message in this forum. The links here in the forum are working okay.
What I can't seem to find is how to edit the "keywords" section under each picture in My Gallery. Maybe it can't be done. Next time I will know to put in the little abbreviation that designates which challenge the card is for.

Sorry I guess I didn't say it right. Go to the gallery, click on the link to your gallery- it should say "my gallery", click on the picture you uploaded and at the bottom of the description there will be a option that says edit picture or something along those lines. Sorry if I didn't say it right. It's been a long week! Unfortunately it's only tuesday so the week isn't nearly over. Let me know if you need help.
