Default Dying Organdy Ribbon

I've searched for threads about dying white ribbon and the tutorial addresses grosgrain ribbon. I tried dying some organdy ribbon yesterday morning with a classic pad, thought it was dry this morning, tied it on my card and it still smeared on the card. Anyone have any ideas on what to do to keep this from happening and get it to dry a little faster? TIA.

I have tried a myrid of ways and it just doesn't work on all ribbon...

some ribbons have something in them that sort of repels ink...so all the ink is going to do is sit on top and smear - no matter what you do...

You can try the a few drops of water, a few drops of reinker in a bag and smoosh your ribbon around but I have found that the color fades pretty quickly depending on the color...darker colors "turn" fairly quickly.

If I need a specific color of ribbon I will turn to one of the on-line places (a few different ones out there) or my local Ben Franklin (don't know if this is a reginal Arts and Crafts store)
