Default new hanna stamp set

just wandering if any one would agree....
saw a card on someones blog today featuring the new hanna stamp of the month....could not help but ask myself if she reminded me of a certain bella stamp...alot of the same resemblances and attributes...standing in the rain, the umbrella, the boots....mmmm....billybootabella maybe!

I think there is enough room in the stamping world for both Hanna and Bella.

Personally I don't think they are alike at all ... and as Shannon said there is room for both Bella & Hanna in the stamping world. I doubt that Billybootabella was the first stamp to come out with a girl holding an umbrella etc and I doubt either will be the last.

i agree...always enough room in the stamping world for both, however i can't help but notice the familiar resemblances....the first hanna stamp being a bit emmybella (ish), her christmas hanna, rather merrybella (ish) and now this one...can't wait to see the next bella featured on hanna.

I don't think the new set is available yet - but I've seen sneak peeks on lots of blogs. Here is the link to Jan Tink
http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.c...aper_scissors/
I think she also has the link to the Hanna stamps site there.

I don't think the resemblences are "too similar" - and the fact that the artist who designs the stamps is NOT a stamper at all (she's a cartoonist) and prolly has no idea what Bellas are means something as well (she's just given ideas then sketches them out and eventually they end up as stamps).

I really am just curious why someone "new" to the forums is posting things like this (Bella related and seemingly trying to cause trouble) - however I might be totally wrong on that point!!

So funny, when Bella came out she was attacked....seems the new kid on the block is always critiqued in some way or another.

I really see no resemblance other than they are both cute women. The artist who drew Hanna definately has her own style in terms of line, curves, method etc.

Bella herself has come out in defense of Hanna before. There is enough room in the stamping world for all flavors and styles of stamps. We need to support each other - it makes for so much more happiness in the world.

I adore the new Hanna sets AND the Bella sets. I, for one, am thankful that we have so many awesome stamps to choose from. Just this morning I was looking for a specific category of stamps (chocolate :-)), and when I did a google search there were literally hundreds of them. Just because two stamp sets have a similar theme it does not mean they are copying each other.

Very well said

And I still see absolutely no resemblance between these 2 companies...and I'm trying to see it!! I just went through every page of the Bellas...

Just because the images are both holding an umbrella doesnt mean they look the same. This rational would mean that no stamp can ever be made with a woman holding a cat because it would "resemble" Kittycattabella......

I just don't get it and I am thankful that there is a new stamp compnay with an image of a woman that I actually love, so I'm happy for me at least;)

I love both the Bellas and Hanna. Honestly, I don't think their style is that similiar. IMO they are very different. They may have similiar themes but I think their styles are very different. Hanna is more realistic-looking and Bellas are more whimsical. I love them both!!

Hi everyone....
Thank you so much for the talk )
If someone thinks my stamps look like the Bella's then that is their opinion. That's ok to think what ever you like. It is a free world. But to be honest, I do not get my inpriation from the Bella's. Think about a Rain Set really. One needs an umbrella, boots, .....LOL How many different ways can an umbrella be before it will not look like an umbrella.
I just think it all is too funny that I am so new only 1 month old company and I am getting this must press...LOL Some one must think I am a threat to other stamp companies. Which in it self is a HUGE compliment. ) Thank you.
If you think they look like hers that is a compliment , after all who doesn't love the Bellas.. But please rest asured that they, my or any future Hanna are NOT copied off any other images or stamp sets.
Ok everyone back to your regular stamping stuff....

Well said Kristi! I have the Bella's and the Hanna's both and I see no resemblance in them whatsoever. Hanna is more realistic and has lifelike features. I like them both and like several have said - there is room enough for them both!

Well, no offense to Emmabella, because I love them too, but she's got a Bella for everything! So, if every lady holding something (like an umbrella or ornament), is off limits, then that kind of limits the selection for the stamp consumer, don't you think?

Personally, I love the Bellas, Hannas, MFTs, etc... and while there may be similar themes between them, their stamps are all very unique and stand alone as wonderful illustrations.

I find it ironic (in a funny way) that the person who started this post was trying to cut down Hanna Stamps (in a very passive agressive sort of way) and yet has only succeeded in giving Hanna Stamps lots of POSITIVE advertising. (even the best laid plans backfire...)

Myself, I like Bellas and I am also drawn to the new Hanna stamps. In my mind, Bellas look more like adult women and Hanna looks more like a young woman...both are adorable. But to each his/her own.

no no definately not stirring the pot...or looking to ruffle...simply stating an opinion....any one who creates is definately an artist and there is always room for others....however, i do not invest my little monies in lots of stamps, and bellas happened to be the few. I could not help in simply noticing resemblances...Kristi...correct it is a complement....one wonders why i have not posted before....i have finally got myself a computer, instead of looking at split coast forums in public places and on other peoples computers...job well done to you...i guess that we all hold closer to us the things we favor most...

hey there ho there..
this is actually an interesting thread. As you know, I know Kristi well! She used to be a moderator on my YAHOO group after all!

I have learned the hard way that everyone is entitled to an opinion and we just have to listen. There is enough room in the world for ALL stamp companies and it all depends on personal preference. In my very humblest of opinions, when I buy a stamp or anything for that matter, I buy a PACKAGE.. I buy service, love, and appreciation and devotion to the product and support all companies who support that rationale. I haven't bought from Kristi but I do assume since she has a wonderful large design team and many supporters that she is following that mantra.

Chiming in late here - As a minor investor in Bellas (grin) I would have to say that Bella and Hanna are quite different. Bellas are wonderful - but they are each single stamps on rubber. Hanna comes in a set with a variety of coordinating images. Hanna stamps are acrylic. I do recall when Bella was dragged through the dirt for having images which were too skinny, too whatever the person wanted to complain about. Hanna images are a bit larger than Bella and are very fun to color.

If you want to see more of the latest sneak peek set (Rainy Day) - check out the gallery here

Have a great day stamping!

I had to pay $10 duties though - any other Canadians getting hit with duties for stamps? It said duty for vulcanized rubber product. Oi.

Default IF THEY ARE

made in the U.S. then Nafta applies and should be duty free. The description shouldn't read rubber as they are not rubber. Perhaps you just paid GST? That would make more sense!
