I am testing to see if my avatar is on here and also to say that I was at a stamp camp or fest or whatever you want to call it all day yesterday put on by Karen Gregorian. What a neat lady. She is so constantly upbeat and friendly to everyone. We had a blast and I got a couple of pictures of her and me. This was my first time at one of these events and it certainly won't be the last time. We made so many things, got free stamp sets and tons of door prizes. There were 193 ladies there which really made this sooooo much fun. Boy can we get loud. I couldn't contain my excitement so had to post it.

I will add them as soon as I figure how to downsize them. I only got the two pictures of Karen plus tons of pictures of cards on the boards and of course pictures of all the ladies I was with. I will have to do this later, have to get ready for church now.

 Very jealous here...been contemplating moving to Spokane, WA just to be able to go to Karen's events...somehow, my DH just is not going for it
Hi Sandy (waving to you!) I told you that you would have a blast stamping wtih Karen! There is a reason she is one of the top demonstrators! She is just awesome! My hero!
If I was closer, there would have been 194 people there!
Yeah, I did it. Here is a picture of Karen G. It is a little blurry, but she is all smiles.
Jan, Lana and Debbi, I wish all of you could have been here. This event was so much fun. We made 24 projects from two stamp sets; things I would not have thought about. The best part is we got to keep the stamp sets. Karen signed up 10 new demo's yesterday. Wish I was one of them, but just not sure yet that I can support my own habit. There is going to be another one of these events in April. Would love to have you come to it.

OMG! I can't believe she signed up 10 in one day. Well, maybe I can believe it. She spoke at convention. What a dynamic lady she is. I too wish I lived closer.
If I was closer, there would have been 194 people there!
Make that 195!!!
Wow 10 people!! What do you think it was that made them want to sign up yesterday...the projects...the stamps...Karen....what??
I mean they were not new stampers right? So they had to have know about StampinUp, or a little bit about it. So why yesterday?
Just curious.
Karen gave a great deal and I mean a great deal to the first ten that signed up. Plus out of the ten, (one was sitting at my table) she held a drawing for the complete set of markers. Yes, I believe that a lot of these ladies have been stamping for a long time. There might have been new ones who are just starting out, I don't know. I am going to give considerable thought to joining the next time. Plus, Karen is a terrific motivator. She is there willing to help. And believe me, I will need all the help I can get if I do decide to become a demo.

So Sandy,
You think it was the free stuff that pushed them over the fence?
If you would have won the markers, do you think it would have made a difference in your decision to wait?
Go Sandy! I agree! Karen is a great motivator and you should definately sign up under her. You will also have the support of all of us on Splitcoast! Wooohooo! You go girl! I'm excited for you now!
Hi Sandy, You day sounds so exciting...I had the pleasure of seeing her demo at Phoenix regionals...Only wish I had her energy and wonderful spirit...Can't wait for your posts...
I can't beleve you got the stamp sets that you used...Sandy How much did she charge each guest for this gathering...I attend a Stamp Camp for 25.00 and never have had that many projects or stamps...
She is definately a "mover and a shaker". I would love to be in her downline...Having her...you surely could support your "habit".
Oh Sandy! I'm so glad you had a great time! Wow!! 193 women stamping at a single event!! No wonder you were determined to get back home in time from here in Texas! I can only imagine what a great time you had! Color me green!!!
Smiles to you!

I've always wondered how people listed on the back of OnStage magazine held $6,000 workshops. I guess this answers my question! WOW! And
I am thrilled when I have 30 people at a Stamp Camp in my little bitty town! What a fun experience it must have been!
WOWWWWWW! So glad to see ya Sandy! And so jealous of such a great day's stampin' fun! Show us the stuff ya made! We're all salivating here. . . . .
Now Karen, we know you come here. . . will you spill the secrets of your success in the demo forum? We're all eager to learn from you! Teach us, please!
Lets set the record straight. my downline who i put this event on for recruited 10 girls. I recruited 1. The price to go was 35.00 You received all the best or favorite freinds stamp set and two ink pads, you also got one word stamp from wonderful words. You made 24 projects, lunch was provided. I choose never to charge a fee for the class, i would rather have a purchase placed. yep we did have 193 women. the next one is April 16th and all 193 have signed up again. It must have been fun. I am so happy that it turned out as well as it did.
stamp with me soon, karen
*faints at the thought of having 193 women sign up for a stamp camp - in shock and amazement*
WOW.. you are incredible Karen! I am very excited that you are here on splitcoast so that your wonderful stamp enthusiasm, talent, and business sense can rub off on us all!!
Hey Karen: Sounds like that time we had 193 people signed up for that protest in Toledo over using unvulcanized rubber. What a riot! Hey sista, you got get me to that next stampin' party...
The stories I could tell or not......
I'm totally jealous, wish I could have stamped with the awesome Karen Gregorian.
Wow, so I am looking in the book. For $35 there is no real profit if you give all that away. Which would be fine if you had that many people there. I'm curious, what were all the wonderful 24 projects? Also, did you precut everything, or let them cut for themselves? How would you prepare for a group that large? Sorry, I'm just starting out here and can't even fathom that at this moment, LOL
Please, please, please do NOT move this to the demo forum!
There are lots of us out here that are thinking of becoming demos and would really love to hear all the details! Hmmmm, maybe even get OUR demos to try something this big!
What a coooool day that must have been! I wanna go!

we cut all the projects before the function started. I did make a profit with my 20% instant income and We ran a special at the function so we got alot of sales there as well. Remember I do have my volume rebate coming to me as well.
stamp with me soon, Karen
Wow what a nifty event! I'd love to go to something like that out here. I mean even as a demo, going to a stamping day like that would be a lot of fun.

Pick my jaw up off the floor!! 193 people!?!? 24 projects!?!! Please, Karen, can you give some more info?? Do you have people pay the fee, then order everything a month early? How long and how many people does it take to cut and prepare for all the guests? Do they get their supplies in a cello bag? Do they bring their own adhesive? Do you feed them? How long does this stampin party last? Would you do a MEGA uplaod and show us the projects you made?? Im sorry, I know this is a lot of ???'s, but its not idle curiosity!! I would really like to kknow what it takes to put into something like this, so I can do it right the first time!! You can even email or PM me!! Thanks so much if you can answer these questions!!!
Tandra

Hi Karen, just had to say what a pleasure it was to have been there Saturday and to have met you. Thank you for letting me get a couple of pictures of you. I will attach the one of you and me together. There was so much energy in that one room. I will post pictures of all the projects we did as soon as I take them. Haven't had time since I got home Saturday evening. Everything was done in advance, so all we "had" to do was stamp stamp stamp. I am so looking forward to April 16th.

OMG, that sounds like sooo much fun! I can't wait to see the projects.
But Karen, how did you justify shipping, tax and the cost of cardstock and adhesives? What about the other color stamp pads? How did you go about things? Pretty please fill us in...we all want to know!!
What a stinkin' brilliant idea! Please tell me I'm not the only anal one who ran the numbers... But, if you place one $6000 order, that's $875 of hostess benefits (plus the Level 3 set). Or you can place multiple orders and get multiple hostess sets for door prizes and less in hostess benefits. You can get a lot of paper and accessories for $800 for the projects.
I'm still interested in hearing what Karen has to say about her HUGE stamp camp but I would like to add my thoughts about this since me and my downline do something similar (only on a much smaller scale  ) We hold a Stamp Camp at least 4 times a year. What we do is, we choose a stamp set that will be used on all the projects at the camp and include this cost in the registration fee. We usually charge $38 per person so we try to choose a set that is around $19.95. If they want us to mount their set for them it is $40.00. This leaves us $20.00 per person for all the other supplies that will be used for the projects as well the cost of the facilities, food and other misc. costs. Each demonstrator is responsible for ordering the supplies and stamp sets for their customers. We use the hostess benefits "freebies" to purchase our door prizes that we give out every 30 minutes. Each dem. is also responsible for putting together the kits for their customers as well. This includes the stamp set (mounting it if necessary) and cutting all the card stock, ribbon, etc for the projects. We put everything in a Craft Keeper, very similiar to what they do for us at convention Make & Takes. We have had tremendous success with this Stamp Camp format in the past. Our last one had around 80 attendees and they seem to grow with each one. We are planning one in November where we will be using Fun With Shapes.
In order to encourage our customers to place orders at the Stamp Camp we offer incentives such as a free ink pad with every $30 spent.
Those are basically the "highlights" so if any of you would like more information I would be glad to provide it.
What a great idea - I wish I would have thought about having people purchase a set for my Holiday Stamp camp this weekend!! Great way to keep up that quota and get people pumped about using what they bought!
Amy,
80 attendee's! WOW! Do you have a flyer or invite handy that you could post so we could see how to word things. Sounds like such a great idea!
Thanks for the info!
