Default Bus Driver Gifts

Someone has asked me to make gifts for her child's bus drivers for Christmas. Any ideas?

One year my kids made a bus driver/teacher gift of snowman soup. I think it consisted of a package of hot chocolate mix, some mini-marshmallows, and a candy cane. We put it all in a little cello bag with a topper, inside of a pretty mug. I can't remember the little poem that went onto the topper though. I thought it was really cute and a teacher friend of mine thought it was a nice little seasonal thing for her kids to do that would not violate any type of religious thing in her public school system.

I love our bus driver. She works hard every day with a crowded bus full of crazy, loud kiddoes. I totally spoil her. I made a cute card with "Hearts and Homes" using the little girl and boy stamps to represent my kids and gave her a very generous gift card.

Last year we gave our bus driver an altered mini magnetic clipboard and a Barnes and noble gift card. He loved the clipboard so much he asked me to make more for a few other bus drivers. We also have given him those hot hands packets. They get cold on the bus!

I hate when I can't find something. There is a web site and maybe someone can come up with it. But it has the Survival Kits and poems to go with them. I did a card and the poem for my sons driver and he loved it. The poem is great. I will look again.

My friend drives a school bus all year long. We've discussed this topic among ourselves. He told me that bus drivers (because they don't make a lot of money), really welcome things like gift cards and money. I know that doesn't sound all that festive and fun, but for those that can afford it, those type of gifts are really most appreciated. Just my two cents...
