I fell in love with stamping and became an SU! demo in 2006 and then moved 30 miles away from my stamping friends a few months later. I show my DH every card I make, but try as he may, I can see through his fake "Cool. Nice. Uh huh. That's neat." So I started blogging.
I am no longer an SU! demo, but I still want to stamp (even if it's virtual) with someone. I don't want a club or anything huge, I just want a few close stamping pals. We can email, visit each other's galleries and blogs, and leave comments and give feedback. I want to get to know you as a friend (not in a creepy, stalking way--I promise!).
I live in Idaho. My best friend, my younger sister, lives far, far away in Cleveland. I don't have any really close friends where I live now--especially any that are stamping addicts like me. And I've suffered with depression and tend to keep to myself, when in reality I need to be branching out and connecting with people. So I want to find a friend that loves stamping as much as I do--it is therapy for me.
I'm a SAHM of two little girls, 4 and 2, and I rarely get a break or (adult conversation, for that matter), so sometimes I find myself stamping during the night...going to bed at 2 am when my DH is waking up to go to work. I spend most days with my girls at home. I love to blog and email with my trusty buddy, iMac.
Does anyone else out there (any continent, I even speak Dutch and Flemish) want to be my stamping & blogging pal?
This sounds like a blast! I am blog-challenged though. My DH and yours have the same replies. I use to have an iMac - hubby is a PCer and a network engineer so I was coerced to the dark side. I work full time so my stamp time is on the weekends or in the evenings. I need someone to bug me to work on projects because the only things I do right now are for my club or the occasional birthday. Yes, I do *gasp* purchase store bought cards because I am a procrastinator if I have no one challenging me!
Welcome to the site where I hang out with all my stampin/blogging buddies! I've met some great ones thru SCS, doing the challenges, chatting, and reading blogs. You might want to join the Secret Sisters group or the RAK group too!

Are there many stampers in Elyria? I grew up in Westlake and had never heard of stamping until I lived in Utah. And then I never got into until I moved to Idaho. I actually met Stampin' Up!'s Shelley during a special presentation while I was in business school, and I remember thinking "What the heck is so good about rubber stamps?" I thought teachers used them grading papers, and that's about it. Glad to meet you!!
I understand what you are going through. I have a small group here that like to stamp and of course I always try to show my work to my DH. I am a SAHM too of three kids. I have a blog and i love posting here and getting all the encouragement I get from the wonderful comments on my cards in the gallery. DH just doesn't get it.

Hi - I live in Oberlin (I used to live in N. Ridgeville, almost on the Westlake border.) My sister introduced me to Stampin' Up a few years ago so I guess I am a stamping newbie. How long ago did you move from the NE Ohio area?

Oh, this is going to be painful (as it makes me feel old), but I moved away in 1995 for college. I came back for summers until 1999 and then moved away for good. My sister lives in N. Olmsted and my goal is to make it out there within the next 3 years. I miss the green. Nothing compares to the falls out there either.
Boy I just missed you! I lived at Mountin Home Air Force Base ID for 6 years. Just moved to Hickam Air Force Base, Oahu Hawaii this past Jan. Wish we could have got together then. But if you are ever in Hawaii, give me a call! Sorry I missed you!

If I ever get to Hawaii, I'm NOT leaving! I'm sure that Hawaii is one of those places that makes you feel like staying forever.
I like Mtn Home. My BIL and SIL lived there for a year and just moved back to NM. I don't get there very often anymore though.

Hawaii is very pretty. I am a mayjor beach person. I just love to sit on the beach and listen to the waves! And I will treasure my "Hawaiian tan" forever!!
BUT... It is Soooooooooo Expensive over here! And stores are not stocked very well at all. We just had to order some Tahoe parts that should have been stocked at the auto store. The only Craft store we have here is Ben Franklin, not stocked well at all and WAY over priced. Better to internet order and pay shipping! There are scrapbooking stores here, but have to shop around to find what i need, can't find everything all at one place. But I keep telling myself, I am in Hawaii!
It is the rainy season right now. Just waiting for this storm to pass. The humity is starting to kill me!

I would love to be your stamping pal! I moved recently and have yet to make one friend! I just moved back form overseas so this blogging thing is rather new......I don't have one or even know how to get started ... ideas? suggestions? Lead the way...
I would love to be your pal..I know exactly how you feel.
I just moved away (3 mo ago) from all of my stampin and scrappin buddies, haven't met anyone here who crafts yet either, and am so uninspired to do much as far as that goes. I have my own stampin room, but all it's getting used for is an occasional card when I need one (my kids birthdays) and surfing the web.
Hi Alana, if you're still gathering your little group, I'd love to join. I'm in the UK, and have been scrapping for some 5 years now, but have recently become very interested in stamping and cardmaking (couldn't tell you the last time I scrapped LOL).
I also grew up in Germany, my Dad was in the forces, I spent 10 years in Osnabruck/Berlin/Lemgo, and took my family back to Berlin last year (after 30 years!) for a trip down memory lane.
And wow, Leslie, imagine living in Hawaii, I would love to visit somewhere so spectacular.

Oh no, if you feel old then I am old too (hehe - I went to college in 1992) Whenever I think of moving out of Ohio to someplace warm, fall is the season that reminds me why I love it here!
Heather
Okay, if y'all are feeling old about the year you left for college, I *graduated* in '94! LOL!
I just started a blog, but it's more about my family with an occasional card/page thrown up for interest.
I'm on a scrapping mission lately and completed 8 layouts this weekend. Would love to chat with y'all more! I moved from IL to KS almost 4 years ago and am *still* looking for a good fit of scrapping/stamping buddies.
Oh, I make cards, too, but they've been back-burnered while I've been scrapping.

Ha I just missed you too! I have been in MH since 2003!
I'm always looking to connect with people! We have quite a few parallels in our lives, from being SAHM's to two children, to the depression, and living away from family. I'm trying to be really consistent with my blog posting as I am hoping to use it as a marketing tool - I'd love some added motivation! Off to check out your blog!
I need a stamping buddy too. I've been a demo a year now, and have had very little contact from my UL. I don't have a blog at the current time...but I need some contact and feedback. Love to have it if you are interested.
You gals who think you're so *old* need to think again...I can beat your *graduation* dates by a huge margin! ;)
Okay, gals, here's what we should do. Anyone who has posted here is in the Stamping Buddies Blog group. (If you haven't posted yet and want to join, post a message.) Let's all add each other's blog address to our "blog Roll" with and add a prefix like "SB" "SBB" or something. (Ex: "SBB YourBlogName.") That way we can tell at a glance who's in our fun little group. If you don't have a blog, just add our URLs to your bookmarks!
(To start a blog, go to blogger.com, choose a fun name for your blog, and the templates and such are already there for you to choose from. Or you can take a tour first. I promise it's not as intimidating as it seems. Just click on "New post" and start writing and adding pictures. It's pretty easy once you get to the page.)
I can create a little badge that we can all add to our blogs, too. I'm not sure how to do it, but I'll figure it out. We'll all try to visit each other's blogs a few times a week and leave at least one comment per visit. This is going to be great. I am smiling ear to ear!
Any feedback from my stamping friends? What prefix should we use?
Alana I'd love to be your stamping and blogging buddy! I too don't have very many friends that love stamping as much as I do. I only live about an hour and a half from you! My sister lives in Twin Falls. I have 2 girls, ages 4 (in November) and 2 (in February). my Blog is www.stampingina.blogspot.com
Your stamp ideas are absolutely stunning Alana, keep plugging away, I'm sure someone will snap you up, I for one would be in the front of the queue to buy them.
My son is chomping at the bit to have his turn on the puter now, sadly we only have one in the house, although maybe it's just as well, or no-one would ever talk to each other LOL. As soon as I get back on I'll check out some of the other blogs, and do the buddy thing.

Aw the memories! We got married right near there in 2005. We stayed at the Outrigger Reef on the beach!
