I am making a ton (probably 25-30) sets of notecards for Christmas gifts this year. There will be 10 informal notecards and 10 formal ones for a total of 20. Other than just typing them together with a bow, I'm looking for an inexpensive way to package them. I would love to put them in some sort of box or time or something. I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions you all-knowing crafters have!!!!
At first I was thinking you could make a purse or box out of card stock, but then 20 cards will be pretty heavy. How about buying a box at LSS and covering it with designer paper to match? If you have a cropadile you can punch holes for ribbon in the box top.
Another neat idea I've seen is a stationery holder made that opens and has two pockets inside.
I bought the Clearly Creative Card Boxes from Papertrey. They are 60 cents each (I think they come 10 for $6). They are under the "paper" section on the website.
What size are the cards that you are making? For A1 cards, I use jewelry boxes, obviously without the cotton insert. I also get gold cord to keep the box closed properly and it looks pretty that way (the boxes have clear tops so you can see the cards underneath it).
I recently saw someone on here (embarassed to say I don't remember who) take the empty box from the invitation size envelopes and make a box for cards out of it. They covered it in cardstock or patterned paper, and added ribbon handles. It was very cute, and with the amount of cards you are making, you're bound to have some of these around.

Oh carp ... I don't have any of these boxes around. I buy my envelopes in a box of 250 for $10.00. Drat, drat and double drat!!!
I got a set once from a friend where she took a page protector, trimmed off the side with the punched holes then folded over the top and stapled on a topper of designer paper and tied with pretty ribbon - it made a lovely package package.

I've seen something like this, but I want a sturdy box/tin so that I can wrap it!
Photographer's Edge sells boxes sized to fit the cards they sell....it might be right for yours-- www.photographersedge.com
I checked them out ... they are way too big (holds 120 cards) and way too expensive ($4.00) being that I need around 30 of them! Thanks anyway for the cool site.
check out clearbags.com They have nice plastic cards boxes, I am not sure if they have one that would hold 20 cards but it would not surprise me. They come folded flat and you pop them open. They also sell elastic cord (in lots of colors)to go around your box for a finishing touch. I use these for my gifts all the time.
