Do you have a messy stamping space? Somewhere in your space, so you have parts of cards, small samples, or pre-cut pieces for projects never completed? These are UFOs.
Well, I have plenty of them in my space... and I have finally decided to use them, not lose them. So, I challenge you to dive into those UFOs and put a new spin on them to create something new and fresh.
I posted my first two finished pieces on my blog in the last few days, and I would love to see yours, too! Give it a go and let me know you did it - I'll come visit and see!
Mine stack is huge! I called it "elements" and if they were actually finished into cards I would have enough to make it worthwhile to sell. Why, oh why do they just lay there and never get done?

Well, Mary Beth, why not dive in and see what you can come up with? Believe me, it's going to take a long time for me to use them all, but it sure feels good to even start. Give it a go!
That is too funny, my challenge this week on my blog is to do the same thing! I guess we are all in a cleaning mode. I like the acronym of UFO for these!

ROFL - you have a challenge, too? How cool - I guess great minds think alike - especially when it comes to cleaning! ; ) I'll have to check your stuff out!
Hmmm does attaching card fronts to card bases count as UFO's? Lately I am making more card fronts rather than whole cards as I see this as less daunting as making a whole card. Strange I know.

That's not strange! I tell you, if it's been sitting unused for whatever reason and you need to add something to it to make it complete, then it counts. Card fronts are less daunting because they use less cardstock, but eventually I got to where making fronts just wasn't useful anymore, so I just bit the bullet and make full cards now. It cuts down on my front collection and allows me to have useful cards whenever I want/need them.
Unfortunately, my UFO's are half finished knitted projects (kind of difficult to use the back of a sweater on a card....) I can totally relate to the UFO thing though - I love starting/trying new things.
I have a whole box full to do. I stamp them and take them out in the motorhome to color etc. Did way too many and still need to finish them. Great challenge to use them. Have company coming to the guest room for TG so cant mess up the room with all my stuff until after they leave.
UFOs! That is a funny way to put it! Yep I have 9 on my desk right now but they are all Christmas cards I am trying to work on. I should have started doing Christmas cards earlier.
Is there a UFO anonymous group out there? I have a bunch - then there are all the lovely WishRAK items.
For some reasons, if I start a card and have to leave it mid-stream - it is so hard to go back and remember what I was going to do!
Thanks for the challenge. Maybe I will have time to work on this. I am TRYING to organize all these odds and ends!

  Somewhere in that space?? Try the whole space!!
I lost my craftroom when my son moved home from college; he has since shipped his stuff to storage however after months of hauling stuff out of that room and into the kitchen to "create"; then just chucking it back in that room; absolutely NOTHING is in its proper bin or shelf. It would take me three full weeks just to organized that room so I can find the UFOs to make something. Heck I cant even find my pack of Basic Black paper and was forced to stop at Michaels a couple days ago so I could buys some sheets. Thankfully I have a gazillion stamp sets and way able to just grab what was closest to the door and make a card.
Its a pathetic situation .... just pathetic. :p
So if I can find a UFO, I will make it my mission to complete it. Somehow.
Wow, I'm happy to know so many other people have the same problem!! I sure hope that some of you will actually take up the challenge, because if we actually SEND these things once they're completed, we can brighten up MANY people's days!
Can't wait to see some posts when they're done, ladies!!
I, too, have several stashes of UFOs. I love to try out a technique, and keep playing, making 3-4 of something. Then I have several pieces to use on cards, and hardly ever use them. But I did make my mother's birthday card with a rescued UFO. So it can be done. I just need to do it more!
Off to work on this huge challange-
Eileen

Lazy little buggers (the UFOs, not us, of course. . . )
I have two UFOs, both scrapbooks. One is a heritage album for my FIL and the other is a theme album of DH's retirement ceremony. Must get these done, LOL! I can't start another card without finishing the last, though.
Does anyone have USP's, or un-started projects. For a USP, you buy all the supplies, put them in a box or pile, and never start them! Sometimes, you wait so long you wonder why you wanted to do the project in the first place. I've got about ten of these lying around.
I tried to leave a comment on your blog, but the visual verification thingy wasn't working - I couldn't type the letters I saw because all I saw was a little red x.
And now back to the original thread.....
I have many, many UFO's (but then I am a registered alien, so of course I do) not to mention a couple of USP's and also a bad case of BUNUI ("Buy It and Never Use It")
Well I took the challenge! I stayed up late last night and made 3 cards out of my UFO basket. It felt really great to complete something. I would link here, but the gallery won't let me upload this morning for some reason. When I find out what the problem is, I will link my cards. Thanks again Gina for a great challenge.

OMG! I do ... I do have a bag or two or three of UFO's! I periodically go through them and make cards that go into my One Of A Kind bin for sale, but it's usually just the tip of the iceberg.
Next time I have another wave of UFO-usage, I'll let you know!
BTW, I have my own self-challenge on my blog called Stash Diving. When I rescue something from my stash, I give myself credit. ;-)
I do try to use scraps and unfinished pieces. I had saved a piece of burgundy - I stamped in gold ink and it was too uneven. I found a way to use it for layers on this card - which also uses a lot of scraps.
HAhahaaaaa :p UFO's, I have them, scattered everywhere right now. Your blog is very nice, I really like the "what color is your brain" widget. So funny. It actually pin pointed mine quite well ;)

Yeah, this is more of my problem than UFO's. I tend to finish stuff once I get going but I have a few USP's for sure. I also have a big bin of stuff that I purchased for alteration/unspecified projects at various times and that is something I've tried to 'tap' every now and again the last few weeks.

OH YEAH, USPs are in my collection, too... lots of them. I am starting with the UFOs and then moving on to the others! lol
Boy, this is great to see people taking it up - the challenge! And it's helping us ALL in the process!

Is there any hope?
Oh Kay, I'm sorry it wasn't working on my blog.... don't know what the glitch was... maybe try it again some other time and see what happens.
And I laughed at your BUNUI term - I think we ALL have that stuff - it's an addiction that is hard to break! lol
