Looking for Splitcoaststampers History!
I've been referring many people lately to this great & informative site but everytime I do they almost always say " Splitcoaststampers - that's a weird name!! How'd they come up with that name!!" Well, I always say "I have no idea but it's a great site!!" Soooo, here's my question - How did they come up with such a weird name!!! Also what is the history of this site...when was it started, by whom, is there someone in charge, who's who, etc etc!! I would appreciate having an more informative answer next time ask me about this site!!! Thanks!!!

Go to the ABOUT page (top right hand corner of your page is a link) for lots of details and some history!

If I remember right, didn't it have something to do with the fact that Tracy had downline on both east and west coast of the US? Hence Splitcoast (split by that pesky midwest! )

whoops, guess we left the 'splitcoast' part out of the official history. splitcoaststampers, or Split Coast Stampers is/was Tracy's SU! group name. she started out as a demo when we lived in Erie, PA in 1996/7. we then moved back home to the Northwest where she continued to grow her downline. so when it came time to pick her group name she thought about the fact that part of her group was back there and part of it was out here. hence the whole split thing. when I went to register a domain name for the site there weren't any other good stamping-related names available (that we could think of anyway) so we just stuck with her group name. and my story is complete...
as to the rest of the who/what we want to expand the About page to include forum moderators, user groups, 'special' things like the Stamp Your Heart Out effort, etc. etc. so that most of the useful background info will all be in one place.

So is Tracy still a demo? Just curious - what a great story!

I met Tracy at the SU! Convention in Orlando this summer. She was very sweet.
The thing she stressed to us the most is that Daven's name is pronounced "Dave-n", a long "A" not a short "a". Like David with an N at the end instead of a D.
My kids sometimes get their names "misprounced" by well-meaning (but not well read) people. I think Tracy feels that same protectiveness for Daven.
