Hello everyone! My DH left for Iraq Saturday with the 101st (this is his third deployment). I know that others send cards to troops and I would like to spread that love. My plan is to send blank cards to my husbands unit to help keep the communication flow between soldiers and their families. Any and all occasion cards are needed. I plan to send the first shipment by Oct. 24th. If anyone has a few extras or time to make a few I know they would be much appreciated. You can mail them to me at:

Thank you all for your support!

I went through my stash and pulled 20 cards to send--it's a start. They range from birthday cards for kids to Christmas cards. They'll be on their way to you soon.
Jen if you will send me a PM with your husbands apo address I will send some boxes directly to him in the War zone. I do it all day long...well feels like it anyway. I would love to supply them with some cards.
I will do. He just e-mail today that they all arrived safely. It may be a few days before I have the apo address. Thank you for all you have done...that's just amazing!

thanks for passing this along. I've had a few contact me from this area and was thinking of maybe having a get together to make cards for the troops???

Holy smokes! I can't believe how fast that was! The first box of cards came today from Susan (LateBlossom)! Thank you so much!!!! I know these will be much appreciated.
Susan you ROCK!
Jen
Just to make sure that I am reading correctly when you say "blank cards" - you mean you do not want any sentiments inside? (So that they can use them as note cards?) Do you want sentiments on the outside?
I'll try to get at least a few in the mail to you sometime soon. My DH is going to a Penn State game in a couple weeks - could be a good day to concentrate on something like that
Holy cr*p....didn't you just post this yesterday? Way to go LateBlossom and thank you for supporting our soldiers!
You're welcome. DH just retired from 20 years in the Air Force, most of it flying B-1 bombers as an I-WSO. But he spent 2 years as a jump ALO with the 75th Ranger Regiment out of Ft. Benning. Our respect for the men and women on the ground grew immeasurably during that time. I am happy and honored to be able to do something for them.
I'm always up early:rolleyes: . I have two little ones that get up around 5:30am. So, to get some 'me' time I get up around 4-4:30. Plus, that's when my DH would normally be heading out the door for work and I've always gotten up with him. I guess it's my enternal alarm clock .
Hello! I'm about an 45-hour south of Ft.Campbell. I would love to send some cards to you. I'll check my stash today and see what I come up with. May have to play today and make some new ones too!
Any more thought on if you'll be getting together to make up some cards. I'd love to join if you do!
Have a great day!

Thank you! As for the get together that was a passing thought but if enough people in the area are interested I'd love to. My home is always open to a day of crafting. I have enough table space for 6. Once the kids and I make it through this adjustment period I'll look into posting a thread about a get together. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again!
Jen, my nephew also left Sat. with the 101st. This will be his third tour also. I've already started a box of cards to send to his group. It is wonderful that you're reaching out to help make their stay a little easier... if that is at all possible. May God bless each and every one of them. No one can imagine, without talking to them, what pure hell they live thru 24-7 over there (never one moment of peace). My prayers are continuous for their safety and for all the pain and suffering their families endure without them.
Thank you, Sandi
